Have You Ever Spent A Night In A Cemetary?

Well, I'm not proud of this but when I was 16 I ran away from home (that's a whole other discussion). Long story short, I found myself spending the night in an old cemetary. There was a little abandoned train station house nearby (at least that's what it looked like)and that's where I slept. No ghosts but I did get attacked by giant June bugs. Have you slept in a cemetary before or where's the weirdest place you've hung your hat, so to speak?

no i haven't, and not particularly interested. lol im not the scaredy type, but i don't think i would want that kind of adventure. for one, those tombs are hard to sleep on. they will be nasty for my back. second, the dew will just leave me with allergic rhinitis. hahaha

I hear ya! This adventure came to me quite by accident. I wouldn't recommend it or do it again myself. Unless, of course, someone would pay me $1000. Mmmm, I'd still have to think about it. Things frighten me more easily now. Eeck. Anyway, thanks for your input, keep that back in shape.

I never have but I must be honest I have said several times I would like to as I firmly believe in spirits and such and one would think that is the place to go to see them I now believe differently to where they would be so I think I would be way too scared to do it anyway.....

Where do you think they would be now. Have you ever wondered down the off-beat path on Mauii on the road to Hannah?? There are no street lights and no homes, just acres of wooded lands. I'm just sayin'. We saw someone walking in the rain. When we stopped she was gone. A little creepy. We never talked about it.

Oh my goodness girl! No way would I be in a cemetary after dark, never on purpose. No one would ever have to worry about me being in a place like that, weren't you afraid? I'd be scared out of my mind!

Well, the train-station house had a light. And we were busy getting attacked by giant June bugs, lol. We did see a couple of people walk by which made us feel safer. Of course, who knows, maybe they were permanent residents of the cemetary. Brrrr, I just scared myself. Hehehehe. Honestly, I would never do it again.

I have never spent a night in a cemetary although it looks to me like it would be a very quiet place thus good for resting or sleeping. The weirdest place where I slept was in the morgue of a hospital where a friend of mine worked. I never spent the night there but i often took a nap there. It was quiet and nobody bothered me there :) I used to pick her up after work but sometimes I was tired and she was late so I would go to the morgue and take a nap there. There really wasn't much movement there - actually I rarely found anyone there and there was this little room with a bed... perfect for naps :)

Now are you aware that a morgue is the residence of the deceased? LOL. Just checking. Because whether anybody is there or not . . . that's just creeeeeeepy!! Mmmm, I think a morgue is far scarier than a cemetary. You win. Hehehe, have a perfectly good evening.

Hoi Gtargirl! Hoe gaat het met jouw? In a cemetary? No never slept in one. Did kuddle in one on the recesses of school, with my boy friend. I was 15 at the time and we were in love.LOL. The only place we could hide and kiss a little was at the cemetary. Maybe the ghosts could see us, but we never thought of that. lol Groetjes.

I would never sleep in a Cemetary! I just couldn't do it. I'd be awake all night. Sleeping in the woods in a tent is about as far as I'll go. I wouldn't do it if I was alone though. LOL

Oh, I would never sleep in the woods. Not even in a tent, lol. At least in a cemetary you know that every creepy sound cannot be real. Who knows what lurkes behind the trees in the forest? Hehehe, sorry, I get soooo carried away at times. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful, crazy Tuesday.

When I was a teenager we girls were a bit nieve. The boys told us about a tomb stone that glowed in the dark. Well of course we wanted to see it. The boys drove us out there. Never did see the glowing tomb stone but we did do a bit of necking. That cemetary was one of the necking spots for the teens back then. That is the only time I was in a cemetary at night.

My first trip to Whitby Goth Festival included spending the night up by the Abbey ruins on the cliff top after the end of the first night of bands, friends, music, drinking etc. I, together with around 30 others, climbed up almost 100 steps to the top and spent the rest of the night around a bonfire with a few bottles :-) I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the whole night and watching the sun rise over the sea in the morning was great, even though it was cold.

Uw, very cool!! That sounds like a place where movies should be made. They probably have been. How awesome to wake up with a view of the sun rising over the sea. Wow!! I would have a little bit of a problem climbing up 100 steps to get there but I'm sure it would be worth the panting and such. Thanks, my friend, for sharing that. Have a wonderful Tuesday morning.

Yes, I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I might not even dare someone to do it. And as far as my little adventure in a cemetary it probably had very little to do with me being courageous. Or at least I don't remember being brave. I remember being cold though. Oh well, thanks for the visit. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Yes, I've slept in the cemetery, but not alone, of course, I'm afraid of the dark. Here in the Philippines, people usually sleep in the cemetery during Halloween, so as to avoid traffic the next day when we visit the remains of our departed love ones.

We have been quite educated about this event you speak of. It's a strange but beautiful kind of event, I must say. I guess if you were to spend a night in a cemetary it would be better to spend it with friends--and a comfy sleeping bag or something. Thanks for your input.

Nope, in fact, i haven't gone to cemetery during All Saint's Day or All Soul's Day. I hate the crowd and the noise and the traffic. But I do visits the tomb of my departed love ones if I find time once in a while. And they are always in my prayers.

That's sweet, my friend. My loved ones are all buried in tombs that are located in other countries. Most of them in Indonesia, Holland and Australia. I don't like the crowds either. Sounds like there are plenty of people around on All Saint's Day. Makes a cemetary not so creepy. Thanks for hanging out with us today. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

I have once, it was obviously Halloween night and I was hanging out with friends. That was really brave of you, sleeping all alone in such a scary place for a whole night... Great!

Were you sure all the ghosts and goblins were kids in costume? I'm just sayin'. Anyhow, I really wasn't alone. My best friend and I were running away from home together. Yeah, we thought we had it bad. Turned out that home was not so terrible after all. Thanks Londoner for stopping by. Have a great Tuesday afternoon.

I have never spent a night in a cemetary and do not believe that I would ever do something like that. I would probably have nightmares sleeping there or would be looking over my shoulder all the time which would prevent me from sleeping. I can not say that I have ever slept in any strange places other than when I was in Boy Scouts and going on camping trips.

Heheehe. Wait . . . you're a boyscout. Nothing should scare you then. Right? Ah, just kidding. Hey, my daugher joined the boyscouts a few years back. What were they called? Boyscout Explorers or something? I don't know. She got to dance with boy scouts and travel world wide.

Well havent spent the night in a cemetary, but I've spent the night in one of the US's most haunted place, Rolling Hills Country Mall. It was for a ghost hunt, really creepy place.

No, I have to say that I have never slept in a cemetary. I have visted many cemetaries, in daylight, as they are very historical & quite informative.

I hear you on that fact, JennyB. We have a few interesting ghosts towns here in California. I've heard the cemetaries there are fascinating. I'm sure some of Australia's cemetaries have stories to tell. Thanks for dropping by.

I have never slept in a cemetery before. You must have had a tremendous adventure that night. I ran away a couple of times and stayed at a friends house, his house was infested with roaches and it was the grossest thing ever. It wasn't because his house was dirty, it was just an old house and for some reason this house just had them everywhere! So, that had to be the grossest place I spent time at.

Yes, it was quite an adventure. I might fictionalize a little and write a short story. Okay, a roach-infest house is definitely the grossest hangout. Nightmares!

I have never and will never spend a night in a cemetery. I think it is very creepy and I couldn't help but think about ghosts and those creatures in horror movies. Perhaps, I can hang around there but only in broad daylight. The dark is scary enough how much more if it catches you in a cemetery. I guess, it would take a lot of bravery to sleep in a cemetery...alone.
