There are some festivals every year. I am wondering which one is your favorite. To me, the Chinese New Year is my favorite because it is the most important festival in China. Besides, people will have longer holiday. And all the family, relatives and friends will get together to have a feast. It is a happy moment because we will also visit each other. It is happier for children because they can receive lucky money from the elders.

Do you have a dragon dance through the streets like I have seen here in one of our Chinatowns? And you have fireworks right? That sounds great. Here in The States we have holidays but most are not celebrated with a festival. The closest we get to a festival is a parade for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Actually dragon dance can be happened in some other occasions, such as the open of a department store, shop, and some other festivals, too. It is not very necessary to have it in the Chinese New Year. I live in Guangzhou, and it doesn't allow to play the fireworks because it is somewhat dangerous. But most of the time there will be a fireworks show over the Pearl River in the 2nd day of the Chinese New Year.

In my country, I love Thanksgiving. First, because being thankful helps our attitude, and we do have lots of things to be thankful for. Even if things are not perfect. Secondly, each of my children was born in that season. It is a holiday that does not have a firm date. I am so thankful for my children and their families. They are really nice people. Third, because of many family birthdays at that time, we get together as a larger family. We have lots of good food, fun and memories. We make new ones every year.

Hi youless! Christmas is my favorite time of the year. We are able to see all our relatives who live far away and all of us are celebrating Christmas at my grandmother's house. it is a happy reunion of the whole clan. However, I have seen and joined in a Chinese New Year festival here because there are many Chinese here in our country and it is also one joyous event. Take care and have a nice day.
