I live in Shenyang, It's far away from my hometown. I visit my parent every two years. I phone my parent when I miss them, about two time a week. Do you live far away from your hometown? Do you phone your parent usually?

Im also living far from my parents so I make it a habit to call them every week. It's costly but that's nothing compared to the happiness I could feel knowing that they are all in good health..and they missed me too =) Also, I wanted to still be updated with what's happening in my hometown.

Since I have married I live with my husband. Though the place where I live is not too far away from my parents’ house I still don’t have much time to visit them daily, as we have many things to busy with, like doing daily office works, household chores. We become much busier since we have our new born baby. Anyhow I still phone my parent every other day. We usually visit my parents once a week on weekends. Occasionally we will take them out for short journey travel.

Good morning, yeerdeng. I also work faraway from my hometown where my parents live. This topic of yours reminds me that I should call more often my parents since I am working so far away from them though I miss them a lot every day. I go back to my hometown twice a year for the winter holiday and summer holiday. As to the other time of the year, I don't have that much time to go home to see them. I call them once in a while, but I do hope that my parents live well and healthily as always. Thank you for your topic.

i live far away from my parent too. i visit my parent at least once per year. you know, our chinese all regard spring festival as the most important. children out of the hometown will come back to have dinner with their parents. most children like spring festival, so do i when i was a child. i call my parent maybe once a month, that's not mean that i dont miss them. in fact, they always call me before i want to call them.

Hi, yeerdeng, my hometown is not very far away from the city where I live, but not near either. I go back to my hometown to see my parents during my holidays. Usually I call my parents once every week, but when there's something interesting or special I will call to tell them whenever I wish, telling them the things I've enjoyed, the success I've achieved, and I hope they will be proud of me, not worrying about me. I wish all parents around the world healthy and happy, and then their children will not worry about them.

I only live 20 minutes from my parents but I usually speak with them a couple times a day. We are close that way and like to stay in touch. So if we aren't together then we are on the phone.
