How do I speed up my metabolism and lose the extra fat?

Some people have problems gaining weight and muscle. My problem is the opposite. I gain muscle pretty easy by just training and eating. I don't take any supplements. However, I gain a lot of fat as well, which I find extremely difficult to lose, even when I do cardio exercises, like running and swimming. If someone knows a good way to trim the fat, preferably without losing a lot of muscle as well, please let me know. I am not looking for a quick way to do it, but an effective one in the long term.

Thanks, that's a great tip! Unfortunately, I do not have the time to do it in the morning, that's why I usually do it in the evening after work!

Hello there, You need to monitor what you eat and the best way is to keep a journal to write down everything you eat. After a week you will see what food makes you gain weight and what food doesn't and tailor your diet around it. I did it and I lost 22 lbs. Then I am back to my old eating habit less exercise, I gain back. Try it.

it may have something to do in your workout routine. if you want to lose fat you may want to try High Intensity Interval Training.. Or maybe GVT.. go and search at bodybuilding.com.. they have a lot of articles on this :D

I agree with watching what you eat. Make sure you eat breakfast so your blood sugar doesn't spike up and down all day. eMany people who weight train think that they should get all the protein that that they can when in fact they end up eating too many heavy and rich foods. I would limit my salt intake and also read labels. Eat fresh foods as much a spossible because all the additives in canned, etc keep the weight on us. Also, cut out as many deli meats/cold cuts and cured/salted meats as you can. Bacon is another one. They are loaded with salt in additives. I am not saying eliminate all meat, but a baked ham (from home) or turkey off the bird, or grilled chicken is so much better for you than processedd stuff. The more you take a lunch from home, the better.
