Do you put your toilet paper on the holder with the end on top...

or undernieth? Or do you even pay attention to this? I CAN'T STAND having my toilet paper on the holder with the end below. There are a few reasons for this. I can't always see it and don't like fumbling around, fondling the bottom of the roll looking for the end. Hygene reasons...it clings to the wall. Who knows when the wall was cleaned last. It's right by the toilet, and admit it, we all know how much men can splatter when going potty. Heck, for that matter, anything close to the toilet is in the danger zone! Maybe we should just carry our own toilet paper, and put it on the holder ANY WAY we want!!

I like it over, and there are days that it will just sit atop the sink with the empty paper carton still on the roll. Its much easier to get it off that way. Half the time I dont get enough pulled off the roll or it tears in other places besides the perferations and that annoys me. I want a nice clean tear where its supposed to tear. lol Yeah I know, do they call that anal or something? LOL Trans is going to have a hay day with that one Im thinking. Bay Lay Gray xx

Hi Cha JudLeoBit! Well my toliet paper holder is much different. Instead of going long ways its up and down.LOL So you roll it to the right or left. I know its strange but thats how it was put up.LOL

I think that would work out great actually Terry. I wish mine was like that. If it wasnt embedded in the side of the sink cabinet I would turn it that way. lol For some reason that makes a lot more sense to me. I dont have a problem with my paper towel rack and its like that, I get a nice clean tear. : ) Bay xx

i put it with the end on top. but that's just how we grew up, my mom would throw a fit if we didn't put it on there right, and that's how i'm teaching my son! fortunately i didn't have to train my hubby, he already did it that way too! and he's always closed the lid, boy am i blessed!! but i think you're right, that it clings to the wall or cabinet otherwise, never thought if that! yucko!!

I am blessed by a hubby who puts the lid back down also. I tend to take it for granted, but have noticed that when my boss's hubby visits at work, he always leaves the seat up! LOL. It is pretty noticeable when we are a shop of 13 women!

It has to be on the top. I hate it being on the bottom too. I just think it seems backwards the other way. It's like being left handed and trying to use something made for right handers. It just feels backwards and wrong!

That's a good way of decribing it. And I'm a LEFTY!!! So I like to have SOMETHING that is easy and makes sense to use.

That is too funny! At work, I always put the paper on the top side. Another employee likes it the other way. I guess it is just how we are accustomed to doing it. At home, the roller thing is too close to the potty for my comfort. I just set it on my little hamper in front of me.

So I guess which ever one of you puts the roll on at work gets to decide? I'd flip it, and see if it ever gets flipped back...

Funny you should start this discussion. I recently had this discussion with a woman at work. She likes it under and I like it over, so we both know who put the new roll on at work depending on whether it is over or under! LOL. At home...it's easier sitting on my little table within reach.

This conversation is great! After reading the conversation and reading all the post I realize I am not a one of a kind when it comes to having to put my toilet paper on ..over the top. I can not stand to have it the other way. I even make sure it is the way I like it at work, and if it isn't, I change it. I have even found myself changing it at other people's houses..lol afterwards I have thought, maybe I shouldn't do that..but it was an urge I had to take care of..lol I am glad to see that I am not the only person who is so particular when it comes to how my toilet paper is placed..lol Good conversation.

I always put the end on the top. I never really think much about it but do think that way is probably the easiest. I suppose it must be as that is the way i automatically put it on the holder!

So much easier to find the end if it's lying right there on top.

End on top. Strange though because it's not really something I think about. Just automatic, though I think not being able to see the end properly is the key reason.

Toilet paper and the importance of which way the roll is placed on the holder. The importance of this is sadly under-rated!!

hhahaha somebody else outthere is just like me. i need to have the toilet paper come through the top of the roll, and i absolutely cannot stand when its not. id rather have it just sit on the ground or on top of the back of the toilet unless the paper comes through the top. my roommates never have seemed to care how it comes through but it irritates me to the nth degree. actually i was in a public restroom the other day that used regular toilet paper dispenses and when i would spin the roll it would either back up between the roll and the wall, or else it would just stick against the wall and if its two-ply, and most cases it is, the two sheets tend to come apart much easier. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh i cannot stand this. i guess this is a pet-peeve that ive inherited through my mother, because years ago she when i would change the roll, she'd always tell me that i needed to make sure the paper came through the top of the roll, and now i cant stand it any other way.
