How fast can you type?

Hello! I recently came to know about a site where we can calculate our typing speed by giving a test. The test is really simple. First we have to choose the time and then there's a paragraph that we have to type and like if we have chosen 1 min, after 1min it shows us our typing speed (i.e. words per minute). I have taken the test and my typing speed came out to be "91 wpm with 0 errors" which is low I think so am going to try it again after somedays to see if my typing speed has increased.

Once I saw the topic of your discussion, I was going to answer: I actually don’t know how fast I can type... After reading the content I then come to know you are so kind to provide the link for us to calculate our typing speed. Wow! You were so good in typing and never make any errors though a bit low in speed, during your typing speed test. I believe if we do more typing daily our typing speed definitely will increase. So keep it out.

Hi vani it's good that your typing speed is 91wpm with out any errors.it's pretty good.i don't now why your feeling that your speed is low.i heard from my friends who are working in dataentry operation job they said that 50wpm is more that enougf and with 0 errors it's very good.any how thanks fo rinforming about the site as i don't know it previously aand i also try it.

I can type a minimum of 27 words per minute and maximum of 32 words per minute. But for just simple words and dosn't contain any numerical words to type. hehehe

My typing speed is very slow. It is about 25 wpm. Anyway, I shall have to improve my type speed before going for the test that you have informed. I think yours speed is excellent at 91 wpm with zero error! Sure I'll try that test in the site. Thanks for this nice and informative discussion.

I find that I type somewhere between 80-90 words per minute. I have had a few people tell me that I type pretty quickly, but I honestly think that for the speed that I type, I often make quite a few errors. I also have heard quite of a few people on Mylot that type a lot faster that me, words per minute-wise. I wonder how, because I don't think that it's possible for my fingers to move much faster than they do, lol. Maybe I'm really faster than 80-90 wpm but because I went back to fix my errors when I took that typing test, that's what my speed averaged out to after fixing my own errors.

My wpm is 71 with 2 errors. Your typing speed is better than mine and I'm a paralegal! Typing is not my best skill.

You're faster than me, I'm like 70 wpm with 0 errors.. but i'm so gonna try again!! Thanks for the links!! though it's kinda hard cause you have to read before you type.. I always thought I typed pretty fast.. oh well.. gonna try again.. wish me luck!! thanks for the link again!!!

hehe, thanks for link! i've always liked doing typing tests. this time i got 66 wpm, which is about my average. i'm always in the 60s. one time i was lucky enough to get up to 80 wpm, but then that was only after doing the same test over for a couple of times. lol, and 91 wpm is not low! i'd be lucky to get it that high. the average wpm i hear is like 40-50. so if that's true then you're waaaaay beyond being "low."

I think will be able to type between 60 to 75 words per minute. I have been typing from the school days and right now in my business premises, My main work from my clients is text processing and editing. I ought to know typing with efficiency. In mylot it is a great boon if one can type quite fast.

This game was fun..LOL. I didnt do half bad. I played a few times and stayed about the same everytime. It said I can type 37 words a minute. Thats not to bad I guess. I will have to practice some more. Thanx for sharing this with us!

I was trained as a touch typist many years ago on an old and heavy manual typewriter. With the advent of all these wonderful electronic gizmos I have found that my typing speed has shot up and last time I was tested I could easily clock up 75/80wpm.
