Have you ever been friends with someone for some time and all of a sudden; out of the blue, they just disappear from your circle of friends??? I have..and to me I think it takes courage for someone to say "you and I don't click..so we should part our ways" What do you think?

I had a very close friend online and by phone. We were realllllly close. We talked every day and emailed and messaged constantly. And then one day she was gone. And I have no idea why. I mean she is still around but she stopped writing, stopped coming around our circle of friends, stopped everything. I don't think she is mad since I did nothing to make her mad. I guess she found new friends or something. I know I could write and ask what's going on but I am stubborn. Obviously she doesn't want to talk to me and I don't beg people to be my friend. But how weird considering we discussed once about not disappearing on each other like so many net/phone friends do. Then she went and did it.

That's the reading I give to it.. I know it's mostly my fault as I say things quite honestly ..not always tactfully. I feel that whether the person wants to be a friend or not they should have had the guts to say so .. It's cowardly to just back away ..but then again maybe they were never my friend to start.

Sometimes, when things like this happen, I do realize the person was never really my friend. True friends can go to each other if they are upset about something. If someone just walks away with no explanation, then I feel like they never truly cared all that much in the first place.

Yes, this has happened to me & it hurts a lot every time. I get attached to people pretty quickly & it's very painful for me to lose a friend.
