Can you ever update your My Lot discussions, too much?

I've been missing in action for awhile from the My Lot scene, so maybe I'm missing a few things here. But, way back when I was really active, I noticed that a lot of members were really good about updating their discussions. Some would provide a response to each person that dropped by. And, so I got into the habit of doing that as well. But, I found it to be very time consuming and of course you know that means less money made here on My Lot. Not saying that posting on My Lot is just about the money, but it doesn't hurt at the end of the month. During my last few weeks spent on My Lot, I would put in about three hours daily updating my discussions and responding to people that had left replies. I guess that was a little excessive. What do you think? Would you ever put more than an hour daily into updating your discussions? How much time and energy do you put into providing responses to people that reply to your discussions? Do you think it's worth the effort to "keep the conversation going"?

I think after a certain amount of time I think you just respond to the occasional one when it comes up, I don't think you should keep it going by answering every single response unless maybe it is a quesyion or something you really want to answer...

I know what you mean. I also try to answer each person that responds to my discussions even long after I posted them, but sometimes it really becomes very time consuming and depending on the time I have on my computer I sometimes can't do it all. What I try to do is after I do all my posting and answering I try to at least answer a few each day, so most of them are more or less updated. That way it doesn't take as long as all that and I can still keep things updated as much as possible.

i have same idea with arkaf61. coz of my limited time of accessing internet, so answer each response in my discussion will consume more times. i just back to my discussion some of times and replying to interesting response :) offcourse i still try to keep in touch with my friends by responding their topic discussion as my first priority

Hey beautyqueen.. ive been gone for a while to.. so i am back now.. and i don't think i will go and update cause my past responses are so outdated.. i wouldn't think they even really care anymore.. the people who responded.. they are not going to go back and look. i think some people do it.. so that they can get paid.. but if i started one last week then i would go back and update.. I wish there was a way to delete a whole discussion that hasn't been touched.. or just sitting there.. that would be good.

I think, it is necessary to keep the conversation going. I feel if I do not post my comments on the replies received to my discussions, my discussions will become boring, dull and tedious and lifeless. So I feel,I must post my comments on the replies received. Vice versa, I also expect other members to post their comments, counter-comments and sub-comments on my replies to their discussions to make the discussions lively. I fully agree with you that posting comments takes lot of our time, but I think it is inevitable, atleast in my opinion. I would also suggest you that you please keep on posting your comments on replies received to your discussions, not necessarily immediately, whenever you find time, you can post your comments. have a nice day! Its become a habit for me and I do try to get to every comment left. Sometimes I don't because I don't have anything else to add other than "thank you for your comment" which is against mylot rules, so in that case I don't reply at all. I was told we don't get credit for it either so.. but out of courtesy I try to most of the time. Sometimes I don't even have the time to answer anything!

I just joined a week ago and I had noticed that people made comments to the people who replied to your discussion. So I started the same thing. I usually just make a comment to a person if I agree with them. relate with them or if they ask me a question. But If I don't know what to comment to them I don't.

Well since mylot discourages answering every response, I don't feel pressure to think of something to keep the discussion going. Some responses really do warrant a reply and that satisfies my desire to continue the conversation. But you do post a lot discussions, so I imagine you have to spend longer updating them. For me, it's not that hard. But what is weird to me, is people updating discussions that were answered like 4 months ago. I don't even remember what I responded to 4 months ago!

I do try to respond to as many comments as possible in the time I have here on a daily basis but unfortunately it gets too much sometimes and all I can do is rate responses. I like to try and keep a conversation going now and again, when it is interesting, but again it is down to limited time. I know I spend far too long here some days and have to remind myself that I have the mundane household chores to do as well.

I update my discussions if I have responses from my friends as always as I do not have many discussions started by myself. I am just happy to keep my old discussions going on and recieve different responds for different ideas.

I don't know if it's worth it but I try not to think about it when I answer. I answer avery response that points out something new into discussion. Of course later there's "OMG I just spent two ours and haven't replied to any discussion myslef just commented replies" but I can bare with it:P
