Update on my mother-in-law

After more than three weeks, and being in three different hospitals, she's finally showing some improvement. The first hospital that she was in, put the wrong size feeding tube in, and it was causing problems. She was near death, several times. She finally got the oxygen disconnected, today, and she's breathing on her own. This is the good sign, that she may be getting well. She's still got along way to go, but she may finally be getting close to going to rehab. She'll never be the same, after the stroke, but she's alive and getting better. Thanks to everyone who was concerned about her.

Good to hear she is doing better. Any brain injury, stroke or otherwise can be so devestating. At least she has the support of her family which is amazingly helpful for recovery. Definitely in our thoughts and prayers!

Your right, brenda. MIL will never be the same. Stroke victims never are. My hubby suffer a stroke 7yrs ago which left him weaker in his left side. Whenever he gets tired now, his left foot turns in and left arm starts drawing up to his chest. His left eye isn't quite right either. Tell your MIL I have her in my thoughts and prayers that she gets well soon and to make sure she takes her meds. EVERY day.
