People here in the philippines love to send text messages than to call. ACtually, if i am not wrong. Philippines is the top one in texting. We are addicted to it..one sent text messages using a cellphone/mobile. Cost only one peso[Php.1.00]. But if they text in outside country. Its depend how far it is. There are some cost only 15pesos every text messages. Filipino really love to text. It is very useful also to the man in courting a woman. If they dont have a courage to say it in person. They just simply text what they feel. If the daughter shy to say sorry to a nagging mother. In order to her to be cool. Simply text it. And then it work. If it is not usual to you in being frank to a person. And you can't say it to him in person. Then simply text it and then he will know.. Almost people in here owned a cellphone. Supposedly before, we can live even without it. But now, We can't live if we don't have it.

I agree with you that sending text message is one of the useful mode for conveying anything, which you cannot convey in person. Here in India also, people use text messages extensively and they do not miss any opportunity to send text message to their near and dear ones. Since I purchased a cell phone, I also use it extensively and on an average sends 50-100 text message ..called 'SMS' every month. If somebody sends me a text message, I make sure to send a reply either by conveying thanks to him/her or by sending a return message to him/her. In this manner, I feel, we keep connected with our near and dear ones and of course our dear friends. What about you, how much SMSs do you send per day, per week or in a month through your cell phone? Have a great day!

It is true indeed that people love to send text messages as it is cheap. Here in China it is cheap as well. It is now even very cheap to make a long distance call if we call from nine in the evening to eight in the morning if we call from the local place.

TExting through cell phones has increased very rapidly nowadays. However, I prefer calling to texting. This way you can get the proper vibe of the conversation. Having said this, text messages is very important in many cases. But I would not like to get fired over phone through text messaging like someone I know had recently!! It's gros and uncivilised. Thanks.

Well, I honestly don't like texting. I feel that if you have that much to say, then call me. I get tired of texting back and forth. Here we have so many texts for free before we have to pay with the plan that I have. So I try to stay under those. I do understand about those situations where you can't say something to the person, so it is easier to text. Never thought about that! I need to try that myself. My girlfriend she is a texting addict and will text everything from hi to paragraphs of conversation. If you have that much to say, just call me! But it is convenient and fun.

Yea,according to me,typing is better than telling.May be ,its because I convey my feelings in a lot better way in writing, than when I speak. Also, there is another advantage.A survey said that talking in cell phones causes harm to the brain because of those waves. When a text message is sent, the amount of waves is lot more minimum ,and hence the potential harm is greatly reduced. There was even a slogan, which was like this one: ========== Pain your fingers, than risk your head ========== Also,as you said, it is very effective to calm down a person,by sending text message than talking. I really like text messaging than to talking. Cheers ! Have a good day Happy text messaging

It is becoming the same way here in a America, which really aggravates me. My friends will text instead of calling and then won't answer the phone if i call them, but will text me instead. i'm like, just answer the phone. I do enough writing all the time without having to sit there and do it on the phone when in reality it's so much better to just have to dial a number and talk. text is the newest thing though so everyone feels like it's better than actually taking the time to talk
