The premise of many Christians is that there are no homosexuals.

I am not tryng to inflame. I just seek comments and understanding. I have been told by a number of my Christian friends and family that there are no homosexuals. There are only heterosexuals who are tempted by the devil to do evil things with people of their own gender. So I am curious. Does anyone believe this? Do you really think that homosexual people are just drawn by some lust? Do you think that gay people cannot live committed lives? Do you think that all gays were molested or seeking the father figure they never had? Tell me. I won't jump on you. I might argue, but it will be with respect. Do you think that there is no homosexuality; only confused straight people? And why do you feel this way?

And ther3e are some gays that think that there are o Christians either. I believe that gays are born that way and not chose to be that way. Since the Great Creator created all of us the Great Creator created gays as well. If it was against The Great Creator's belief to have gays then why did the Great Creator create them? Since the Great Creator is a loving being , the Great Creator could have left the bigots out of the world but did not. The world is a mixture of many different people with different thoughts and needs. Being either homosexual or heterosexual is just a couple of these different kinds of people and I am glad that there are a variety of people in the world. Maybe I do not agree with a person , I do not tell them to not think about things. I was in the army and we were trained to protect the rights of people to speak their minds even if they are wrong. As I was told by a sergeant, "I may not believe what you are saying , I will fight for your right to say it".

there are a number of Christian Gays. THey do not view the bible as many people do. But their view is no less valid than others. I guess christains just need to wonder what their name sake would do and how he would react. I think my view is different than many.

I guess my opinion on this would be that there are more confused Christians than there are confused straight people. People are usually pretty clear about what they are attracted to so I don't see how a person could be "confused" about that. I also don't get why people think gay people "choose" to be gay. They way they have been treated it wouldn't be much different than saying people "chose" to be black during the years of slavery. Why would someone wake up one morning and say "Gee I think I want to be gay so I can be ostracized, criticized, made fum of, threatened, bullied, and discriminated against." Hmm sounds like fun to me...

Wow that is hard to say i think that when someone is gay they was born that way. On some people ya can tell I think that their hormones just got all mixed up somehow But it does tell ya in the Bilble that a man should not lay with another man

why don't you try to see it from another point of view? God created man and gave man feelings, emotions, pains, experiences, blah blah... But if homosexuals are against the will of God, why does God give homosexuals feelings and emotions towards someone of the same gender as themselves? All in all, although God created everything that there is in this world. Ultimately, God is to be blamed for the existence of homosexuals that surfaced on this planet. Sorry if I sound as if I'm pinning down on homosexuals, but I absolutely have no ill intentions towards homsexuals. After all, they're human beings like you and me and shed tears and bleed like everyone else.

Homosexuals are not against the will of God. Man interpreted the verses in the bible that may deem homosexuality to be wrong. God didn't write those words. God made gay people gay.

I had told, don't take the Holy Bible point with using humanity eyes and compared it into our current life. We need use our heart to take the point in the Bible itself. What we need to seek inside is the core of each of the story. Besides Bible was written according to its ages, it's better to fit them into our current life. Don't swallow in a piece, chew it.

Based on people I've known and things that happened to them I believe most homosexual individuals are born and are the way they are, although I have known a few people who claimed and acted like they were gay but actually were just interested in being a part of the "scene".

Can I say there are no straight or gay people, only repressed bisexuals? Just for fun? *giggles* Sorry, I know your topic is serious, but I couldn't resist. I've heard this too, and it just doesn't apply to so many of the homosexuals I know. My father, for existence, I am pretty sure was not molested. I have only had one gay friend who was, and many many straight friends who were. Considering my own history, I often come into contact with other survivors of such abuse, so it's really surprising that I don't know more that are gay, if that's supposed to be what makes people gay. It also doesn't work for me based off the fact that there are some people the "devil" wouldn't have any reason to tempt. Unless you're Christian in the first place, why would the devil bother making you had homosexual lust, considering you're doomed already just by not being Christian?

"considering you're doomed already just by not being Christian?" I hate that too, but that is a topic for another day. LOL. And it might be a good one, so hold on to your hat. "Ex gay" people seem to think that they can stop calling themselves gay and suddenly they will not be gay. So I decided to call myself wealthy.....Didn't work. Doesn't work for them either. Your father is a perfect example. So is my ex husband. If you ignore it it will not go away. It will only fester like an infected boil. I love that analogy

There certainly are confused straight people...lol! Obviously, there are homosexuals and they were born that way they didn't choose to be something that would bring them so much discrimination and persecution! I think they can live committed lives evry bit as much as any heterosexual can, in many cases much more so! As for why I feel as I do, I guess it's because I wouldn't know any other way to feel. It's beyond my comprehension how some people think they have the right to judge others or to deny them the same rights the rest of us enjoy just because they don't approve of their lifestyle. Annie
