What do you think about the joint family system? Do you think a joint family system will help the new generation to grow with abundance of knowledge. Do you think it will helps to eradicate the selfish attitude among the people?

Hello Shak, When there is so many members to watch how can a person do wrong things? There is a feeling of security with joint family where in nuclear family that is absent.

Wow!!! nice discussion and this is interesting for me I think yes joint family system will help for growing new generation but now this system is loosing. Now education system is came so every girl wants to live alone but she dont know the loss of single family due to these now divorce cases are increasing. But the most important thing is in joint family is understanding between family members specially husband he should not try to speak one side when quarrel is doing in between MIL and his wife. Because this is also a part of life so if the son or husband is not talking in middle then the query is solved immediately. I love joint family and still my all three brother and bhabhi is staying jointly and the niece and nephew also playing together happily.

Hi dear, So you are following my old topics. Thank you so much for spending time for it. In joint family, there must be a shoulder to cry, either is one aunty or a sister or a granny. We can open the heart and vent out all the frustrations. But on nuclear family, who is there to comfort. Husband is busy with his works, on reaching home wife is busy with works and teaching kids, no time to have an open talk, if there is even any misunderstanding. Life just moves on…

That depends on which culture you live in. Each family life style has its own benefit and the dark side. Well, if joint family, we are trying to harmonize the many people's idea. Which sometimes could be a nightmare when we are trying to make a conclusion. Because too much ideas.

I agree that may be a drawback. Still we can take decision by knowing the most experienced person’s opinion in the family. Different opinions definitely help to analyze the situation deeply and find the right solution.

There is sacrifices, understanding, cooperation, love and respect, all these are present in the joint family concept. Kids can learn how to respect elders from the very beginning.
