I know what you feel because that is also my problem ever since I entered high school..I don't know what happened to me...when I was still in elementary, I would draw whenever I had the chance mostly during breaks and even class hours especially if the teacher is boring. Also when I got hold of my pencil, automatically I would scribble and draw mindlessly but now that's really impossible. It seems that my flair for drawing suddenly vanished but I'm not really sure because I could still draw something magnificent as long as I really need it like my projects.

Hey love, The right time to draw for me is usually in responce to something that has inspired me immensely. That is usually when drawing for me is a pleasure and expression of joy and release. However, I also found that drawing can be the perfect tension releaser during stressful and overbearing circumstances. Those are the times I usually create extremely controlling art with meticulas details that are busy with turmoil. I usually feel that those stressDrawings are pointless and that I never get my point across. But a week or month goes by, and I pull it out from under a heap of books and folders, and I look at it and it all makes sense. Then I usually get really inspired and try to recreate the detail and committment demonstrated in the overDetailed drawings, and subsequently achieve a marriage of deatil and inspiration. I like to draw only when I have a reason to. If I try to force a good drawing, whether it's for a job or not, it is the hardest most excrutiating exercise to get through. But in short, a good time to draw is after a long eventful day. Usually early in the morning doesn't work for me. (but here is a hint that works wonders) If you have a day and a half to give, I found that staying up all-night the day before I need to be at my peak of creativity, (all while doing a completely different form of creativity) will produce plethora of ideas and courage to experient them out. The key is to stay awake. Hey it's 4:18 am here in Chicago, and I have 15 illustrations to paint by the end of the morning, I have no doubt that I will get them all done.

Try to find out the periods of the day during which you are more creative. For me (as for many artists) it's from 10-11 am and 11:30pm-1:30am
