I love the internet! So much information! You can check the facts on anything if you put in the effort. This global warming issue has got me in a bit of a froth. If the data supported the claims of man's habits creating the warming, I'd be all over it trying to get our community to do its part in reducing CO2 emissions. But I cannot find any data yet supporting such claims. Here's an article that I think is worth your time. http://www.ideditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=272674697218671. Now that you've read the article, where do you stand on global warming and Al Gore's credibility?

Well your link doesn't work. But I did find something else. I've gone through and verified some of the claims too, especially the obvious ones. http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/monckton/goreerrors.html

Sorry about the link not working. Thank you for the link you found though (at least yours works). This pretty much is the slam dunk on the B.S. (Bad Science, right?) that Al has been promoting as truth. The charts don't lie. Just the politicians do.

Completely. I do believe in better technologies, protection of the environment, continued research, but Gore and a few others were in it for attention, agendas and some profiting. They also claimed the debate was over and demonized anyone trying their own research or refutations even if they were just doing it for science sake only. As a growing scientist (or hobby scientists) I simply disagree with any suppression of research and debate.

Found the problem with the link. As usual, the computer error was due to human input error. The link is: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=2773393999191115.

I'm a greengrass revolution kind a gal, so this movie definitely adds great credibility to Mr. Gore in my book. Anyone who promotes more nature and less citiousy is super-grand in my book. I always vote Nader but if Gore runs... Definition of a citiot (combination of the words city + idiot): An idiotic city-dwelling creature who resides on planet earth but has no real interest in it. They are usually only focused on the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR! as there personal lord and savior.

There is that simple motto - never trust a politician. If they didn't start off bad, they sure do end up that way. In my book, anyone who wants to be a politician is anywhere from a little bit to extreme amounts touched in the head. More food for thought. The mass opinion never makes sense and can drive you insane, while the individual thought process can bring you back to sanity...

LOL! Agreed, the "mass" can lead to insanity. But to guarantee it, I return to my personal thoughts.

Thank you for the new word and definition. It's a good one. But I can't help but wonder if Al wasn't chasing said dollar. He's already rich, so why did he charge for the movie? Just some food for thought.

Anytime anyone tries to back a scientific claim by pointing to a "concensus" of scientists, run for the hills. Science is not about voting, popularity or concesus, it is about facts. If all they have to back their claim is a concensus, all they have is an opinion that is shared by others.

Very astute observation! Where as I'm not against a consensus, I do agree that the facts are more important than the opinions of them. And according to recorded data, there is no global warming crisis. And CO2 responds to temperature increase, often hundreds of years later, and does not create warming. All this info and yet there are people who'd rather believe a washed up politician. Yikes.

On the internet, you'll find websites with data (true or false) to support any side of any issue. How is it that you can't find *any* data to indicate man's role in the global warming problem? Your link isn't working for me, so I can't give any opinion on it, really.

Sorry about the link not working. Have no idea as to why. As far as the data I mention not being able to find, every time I research charts regarding temperature, CO2 and overall climate change, they all show significant warming trends before our use of hydrocarbons became significant in the atmosphere. They also show that we are currently in a much cooler climate than just a few decades ago. Yes, data can be manipulated. But I just go by the numbers on the charts. No interpretation there. Just recorded information. Hope this clears up what I meant.

The world may be warming, but we (humans) did not couse it. The sun goes trugh a normal cycle, and we are in a warming trend. Look only two decades ago "science" was predicting a Global cooling. that we would go into a new ice age. And the fact is that 1936 was the hottest year in the past century not as gore would have everyone beleive. It is a movement against humans, read his book earth in the balancwe where he states "earth" must become the relegion of thwe planet, and we must get rid of 4 billion people. How do you do that? Keep them in desprate poverty by saying new new power plants no this and no that, the earth is in pweral!. BS!!!!! SUstainable development means the killing of billions of people !
