I was sitting here thinking one day how we are so lucky to be born and live during this time period. We have excelled enough in technology to make our lives very convient, for we don't have to go through all the hard work our parents did just to wash a shirt or clean the house. Each generation is growing more and more in the technology area and new products are developed everyday to enhance our lives....but the results is that Mother Earth is starting to reject our efforts. With global warming and the atmosphere starting to deteriorate the next few years will be a test as to whether we can save our natural resources for the coming generations. I think this is the best time in history to be alive. What do you think?

Hi JillHill, While Im very thankful for modern conveniences, I think its causing us to all move so quickly and we have forgotten what living really is. Everyone is rushed here or rushed there and life is stressful. I would actually like to live in a more humble enviroment where things arent so advanced. I think more people would appreciate one another, slow down and take the time to enjoy life. I guess I dont see taking a luxury Cruise on an state of the art ocean ship, or being able to blow people off with a text message cos your too busy to talk, or write an email cos snail mail takes too long living life! I dont know, just seems like all these modern conveniences have taken away many things from us as people. We value our $40,000 dollar car more than we do our neighbors. Hell I dont even know my neighbors and I would like too! I guess Im just old fashioned, I should get with the program! lol Bay xx

I grew up on a farm where there was only an outhouse and we hung the clothes out to dry. I guess I have gotten spoiled. I do know my neighbors....of course I live in a small town. But you brought up alot of good points. Thanks for the response! I enjoyed it!

LOL HI Jill, thanks! See now, I want to grow old on a farm! Ill hang my clothes out to dry, but I think I would pass on the outhouse, I dont want to go that far back into history. Little House on the Prairie is out! hehe But I would like a more slowed down version of life. Lots of acres, some race horses, a mile long dirt driveway to my humble little home in the country. A front porch with a swing on it and some peace! I live in a rather small town too, but my neighbors are rather rude and snobby. They dont wave back to me or smile, I try to be nice but they just dont give a hoot. They make me feel like Im not up to par or something. I think people in even smaller towns are more sociable and kind. But thats just my way of thinking. Thank you again, have a good night! Bay xx

I love the Good old days. I wish i had born in the past. The life was so peaceful and there is nothing called a betrayal. As times flies by the world has emerged leading to this. Now there is no human rights no respect. All depend on money and makes a persons status. Its too bad

Yes it is. Now the Words of help, trustworthy are totally being eradicated. The Word Selfish is started emerging like anything

In Germany a big car company began to produce the car wich works with pure hidrogen. The Hidrogen is most frequent unit in the air. During the burning the byproduct is pure water. (It comes from the exhaust pipe!) DO you know what is the biggest problem of the goverments with it? They do not know how to ask tax for Hidrogen! There is so much money, interests in ruining the Earth, that the goverments will not stop. The goverments speak about it, but they do not want to do more. It is funny when they say I should use less electricity to protect the Earth.

I have checked just now: The BMW is the manufacturer. ANd it works just like the models running with gas, the cars looks like those, but one is enviroment friendly, and the other is not. There is NOT any difference in comfort, or feeling, or speed. One has smell, and the other hasn't.

I think that maybe we are lucky to have all of the technology of today and have appliances that make our task easier but I grew up in Happy Days and everything was much easier...we didn't have so much pressure in our everyday life and we didn't worry so much about global warming, war and sickness...we are paying for our convieniences...lots of garbage and pollution but we have to go with the flow and try to save our world also. We have to keep up with the technology or otherwise we will be left in the dust and not know how to use computers, ATM's and all of the electronic devices that are so popular now. Things have really changed since I was a child...much more complicated.

You know, having to do that kind of work without the technology, probably would be great. But what I am thankful for is the technology is medicine, especially when it comes to giving birth. I don't think I would have had any kids if I was born just 5-10 years earlier. Because back then they knocked out the mother and before that, the mother was awake with no pain killers at all.. Today, the mother can be awake and have that choice and that is what I did, I was awake, with painkillers..lol

I think that this is the right time for us to take measures to protect the environment. If we didn't do it now afterwards we have to repent for it.

Sometimes I feel that we are not lucky, yes we have more technology and we can not live without it but what if we were born before and we didn't know anything about this technology we will not miss it because we don't know it, I think that the previous periods were better because people was living in a quite slow life not like us we always have no time to do many things we are always in a hurry and this is because of more technology we have no time to see our relative or to stay with family we are always busy.

To some degree I agree with you.....but on the other hand life is what you make it. If it weren't for the modern technology I wouldn't be able to see my children....or communicate with them as they live all over the world....I do make time to see my relatives.....and I also grew up without modern conviences...I do enjoy many of the things they have designed for the betterment of our lives.

I totally agree. We are so lucky. Think about how easy we have things compared to our ancestores. Technology is so amazing, even though it is hard to keep up with. Think about how fast things have advanced, and what they will be like in the future with things advancing so rapidly.

I have often thought about the same idea. Many of us have a lot more advantages than our parents or earlier generations have had. But of course, we don't know how much easier things will become in the future either. We don't know how much even easier the future may be for further generations, or maybe it will be harder which will make us all the more fortunate. Two hundred years ago people probably had it easier than the earlier generations as well because there has been advancements and test runs of earlier periods help the future become better. That is what is great about life, improvements can always be made to make it easier.

From an outhouse...to a chemical toilet....to one that flushes....to self flushing! How wonderful it is that technology continues to challenge intelligent people! It makes life easier for us! Thanks for the response!
