Here in the Philippines, when you say business, we immediately think of Chinese. Mainly because most businesses here are owned by Chinese people, and the richest here are chinese taipans. I wonder why the Chinese are so good in business?

I agree with you. In line with business Chinese businessman are the one on top of the line.I believe that its because Chinese people help each other in terms of business. They dont aim high profit, even cents is fine with them as long as they sell products fast. They are honest that is why they get loyal buyers. They have good resources and supplier.

I've also asked myself several times that same question until i've read somewhere a very good explanation about this. It simply has something to do between Chinese and filipino way of thinking. Filipino parents would tell their chilren to study hard so when he graduates he'll be qualified as EMPLOYEE in a pretigious company. Chinese parents on the other hand, after college want their children to start a business and be an ENTREPRENEUR. When meeting long lost friends Chinese people talk about businesses but filipinos talk about latest celebrity gossips. Funny but so true.

lol yes that's crazy. People need to realise why do you need to work for someone when you can work for yourself and make 10 times what you make working for any company. WHy not be the owner of that company? I understand people need to start somewhere. But after you have gotten the money you need through loans or saving starting a business should be a person's #1 priority. In America, why would I work at Mcdonald's making $6.85 an hour when I could own my own homemade hamburger shop, doing basically the same thing making a thousand or more a day?

The reason why Chinese dominant and successful in populated most in business because they are pioneering in business civilization world. Look back into the ancient history, 1400 years ago. Their knowledge and dynasty attitude that create huge teamwork building through the formation of dynasties. Dynasty means the power of teamwork building and the networking. Dynasty Ming ruled from 1368 to 1644, he construction of vast navy with 1,000,000 troops. And 1,000 tons of iron were produced. All of the stories, if we go for deep and thorough learning, it showed that how great there are for business teamwork, networking, manufacturing and marketing. Where were our community at that particular time?, At what level?, what achievement?. History can tell it all. China never been ruled by colonial party or system, they only have had cold wars among their people for power gaining. My conclusion, they are more advance in community civilization and business teamwork and the networking. Good businessman definitely with productive networking. No point to be good but unproductive. That is business criteria. No one can do business alone. The give and take transaction.

Chinese people are not really good in business. They work so hard for their business to grow. I have a friend who is really from a Chinese Clan. She told me that most Chinese families in the Philippines are rich and famous because of their hard work. :-)
