I just received notice of two new security threats if you use the Mozilla Firefox browser or IE7. Firefox is about to release a new version, after discovering problems with the latest version which was released not long ago. IE7 has been discovered to have a vulnerability that can allow your computer to be taken over and also spread viruses. Microsoft has not developed a patch for this glitch as of yet. We are all urged to be careful when surfing the net-paying special attention to links through emails. Please, be careful out there!

I always use firefox and I had an update for it about a week or so ago, I don't know if it addresses this vulnerability though. There are much much more threats against internet explorer out there though, whenever I use IE I always end up with problems. Firefox has to be the most secure.

I have a very reliable source, sparkster, and Firefox is set to come out with the new update very soon. That is what is strange. They just found the new problem since the latest update. I rarely use IE7 myself because it does have many vulnerabilities.

I've rated your answer because I've just received an update from mozilla that addresses the issue, your sources are reliable!

I use both these browsers and haven't heard anything. I think Firefox has already updated for me. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be alert from here on in.

The second installed this morning...my settings have been changed. My Homepage is altered and all my favourites have gone. I've been collecting them for years! :( So annoying,...that's never happened before with an update.

Firefox did just recently update, Ms Tickle, but there is another one coming right on the heels of this one.

I read about them in my Worldstart newsletter, Thoroughrob. They keep you up to date on most things to do with the internet.

I use both firefox and IE7, I didn't get an alert for firefox, but have it has just been updated. As for the IE7, have they corrected that problem yet?

I just applied patch 2.0.0.9 yesterday. I hope other people don't put it off. Browser updates are crucial because plenty of them are emergency patches.
