So...I live int his apartman complex, where we cannot grill outside in front of our apartman, we have to move our grills about 150m from it. When we hear that, we decide to not buy a grill, since we live in the second floor and it would be just too much work to take it downstars and back. But today i just got this violation letter on my door for griling under the stairway......What a nice joke....So I called the office and the letters wasn't for me, but for someoone else.....They were asking me, for who it is...(why should I tell them?) Did you ever got notice of violation and it was mistake?

Though i have not received any notice of violation, but my father had received and it was a mistake. He had paid the House tax for all the quarters without any dues, and in time.. But the same was accounted under a different address, but carrying the same name as that of my father. Luckily he had the receipts for making the payments, which he produced and got it rectified.

I am glad that I don't have any kind of notice of lease violation. It must be very annoying to have even one notice like that. I am sorry that you can not have enough proper space for grills. Maybe you need to think about moving to a better place before you can have your grills.

It doesn't really bother me to not have a grill, what bothers me to have a notice of violation if I didn't do anything wrong.

If the complex took the time to put the violation on your door. I'd be careful, I live in an community where the residents are the association and I tell you no lie when I say they have actually circled my drive way trying to act like they are just speed walking like any other day. But I catch them lookin over at my place and looking at their watch. I grill even though I am not supposed to. Hey who cares...why should we be convenienced. We pay rent too. Just be careful because it still is a violation. Good Luck and Happy Grillin....just don't burn anything down.

I did not know Harry Potter was living in your building.:) I guess the notice of violation was for him.:) I agree it would be too much of a bother to carry your grill downstairs. I guess that means you cannot grill on the balcony. I have seen many apartment blocks with the propane grills all on the balcony and they are not all on the first floor. It would be a bother to move them, if their landlords decided to not allow it and it does get very hot here in Summer.

No, but once when we were renting a home way out on the edge of a small town, a neighborhood shopkeeper came over and told us there was an ordinance against grilling in our neighborhood. We had a tiny little Hibachi grill and had just put a couple sausages on it, so there was hardly any smoke and besides the store where she worked was way across the street anyway. She didn't even own the store, she was just a grocery clerk there, but when she saw us come outside she ran over to see what we were doing. and then rather triumphantly announced that we could not do that. Later we learned there was absolutely no law or rule against doing this and that woman was just a bit cuckoo and had a habit of pestering people in bizarre ways.

LOL Thats funny, you said "what a nice joke". Thats the pain of living amongst other people. I guess they should have know who it was for, they were the ones sending it. lol When we first moved here I was getting water bills, and it took me a couple of them to realise they were not for me, I was sure the water was included in our rent. When I got another one I had looked more closely to the address and it was for a house half way down the block! The mailman was getting it all wrong. I felt bad, I thre the others away, I guess they might have gotten behind on their water bill. lol Ooops! Bay xx

Luckily, I have not gotten any nice notices on violations of any kind. I am very careful about what I do in my apartment and my landlords are the nicest souls.
