Becoming a vegetarian

Have you ever thought of becoming a vegetarian? I am thinking about it because of the brutal way of killing animals, but yet I don't know how to be separated from meat which is so delicious. I don't like vegetables and legumes, and so I have no idea what would I eat if I ever become a vegetarian. And one thing I never understood is why some vegetarians eat fish since it's also an animal.

I eat meat because it tastes good.Anyone that wants to be a vegetarian or vegan is fine with me.Just don't try to tell me I'm wrong to eat meat.I like plants.Maybe I think it's wrong to kill a defenseless tomato.Should I protest against vegetarians? Oh yeah, have you ever seen a vegetarian? They aren't the healthiest looking people in the world. But,if that's the way they want to live,so be it.

Nowadays animals aren't killed brutally and it's done as quick and painlessly for them. My boyfriend and I argued the other day as I said I wouldn't eat rabbit... he said: It's food! I said, 'no... i see rabbits as pets, same as you see your dog as a pet! would you eat your dog?' he said that was different. I don't think it is at all. Basically wat I'm getting at is that I think it depends how you view the animals... I see cows, sheep, pigs, chicken as food so it doesn't bother me... I'd never eat rabbits, ducks etc... I think people become vegetarians for different reasons but I do think a big part of it for many people is in what light they view the animal.

I have lived with vegetarians and vegans and enjoy all the great food without meat, however, I am a meat eater. The important thing is to not let anyone tell you that you should do one thing or the other. To get this part out of the way... if someone claims to be vegetarian and still eats fish, they are dumb. That is not vegetarian at all. I have heard some claim it has to do with no nervous system. But that isn't true either, so just trust me when I tell you that there is a completely different classification for fish eaters. (P.S. Some do it for a special diet, it is still not vegetarian.) Anyway... a vegetarian can be a much healthier diet than meat eaters. However, you need to make sure you still get the vitamins that we get from meat. Don't listen to anyone that says they have less energy from being vegetarian, it means they did not have a healthy diet. In fact, scientifically, meat makes us more tired. One thing to decide is that if you are going to do this for animals, will you be vegan? There is plenty to eat without meat. I always hated Tofu, but when prepared the right way, it can be good. My neighbors Tofurkey is amazing. I enjoy all foods, but if you don't, you may not like a lot of veggy foods. You should make a diet plan and decide if you are willing to eat that in place of your meat. No matter what, you should make sure to take some supplement vitamins. See your doctor for advice, unless they say you must eat meat, because it is just not true. Another thing is that you may spend more for your vegan food. However, you will not get all those horrible preservatives and processed foods that we tend to eat. Another option is to eat organic meat and free range food as the animals are treated better. Maybe even eating less meat will help your conscious. Whatever you do, good luck. And just be sure to keep a healthy diet, no matter what you eat.

I am a vegetarian for the past 47 years and I am yet to taste a non-vegetarian item since my birth. Vegetarian items are more tasty and not much harmful to our health. Think of the brutal methods used to kill the animals when you eat non-vegetarian items. Within one year you will start dislike them.

i'd really love to if only for health reasons. i tried it once for a day - it went kind of boring. i think i'd not be able to get around to it just yet, since i love fish, and chicken, and lean pork. maybe in time, if i really need to. for now, since i can still eat anything, i'm enjoying my time.

I will never become a vegetarian. I like meat. I do cook with less meat than I used to though. Due to having less money available for groceries. Pasta, rice and beans are so much cheaper. I include veggies in our meals for good health.

I've done the vegetarian thing and quite honestly didn't have a lot of energy after about a week or so. I do tend to do at least 1 or 2 vegetarian meals per week. As for what to eat, there are a number of meat "substitutes" that you can eat. I served Morningstar Farms' chicken nuggets ot my sister and former roommate once and neither of them believed me when I told them they weren't actually chicken. There's also various beans, tofu, and some vegetables have a bit of protein in them. Eggs are a good source of protein and a number of vegetarians eat those.

I have thought about becoming a vegetarian many times.Nowadays I am hearing a lot about the health benefits of being a vegetarian. But honestly I can't stay as vegan for more than a week. It's very hard to resist the temptation to eat non veg.But stopped taking redmeat as heart desease runs in the family.Just trying to be on the safer side. I think the "vegetarians" who eats fish cannot be called as vegitariens if they eat fish.:)Don't you think?
