Do you have to be solicited to do acts of kindness or do you do them on your own

I have realized there are different kind of people that do nice things..
There are those that act out from their heart..these people usually do things that others will never know about..The act is all they need to feel good..
Then there are those that do kind things when asked but seldom think of them on their own..They do them because they have a hard time saying no..it is nice that someting good comes from it but it's not from the heart.
Then there are those that act because they want to do more then his neighbor...this is not from the heart either..
Then there is the person that wants to gain something from it..Win aan award or gain someone's confidence or con someone out of something..these are certainly not acting from their heart..
I think I am the first kind or atleast I hope I am..
What kind are you?
Just for the heck of it do something nice for someone or thing..make sure noone knows about it..Do it just for the sake of doing something nice...Try it you will be surprised at how it warms your heart!

I am just me Raydene I will not put myself in any Catagory as I will always be me the one thing I do know is that no one has to tell me when someone needs kindness or help or a soothing word or a hug I know when they do and I will give from my Heart I always have and got hurt many a time and still do get hurt but it is me and I can not see People hurt or upset xxxx

Well, I do nice things to other if I feel like doing it but not to earn from it or to gain something from it. I just feel that I need to do something for others. But I am not expecting anything in return with the things that I am giving them. I believe that when we give we should not think of something in return. We just give just because we are feel that we want to give.

I am a busy type of person, sometimes solicitation letter will reminds me that someone is needing my help and i help them honestly. Helping others by my own will happen if there are my relatives or closest friends, but for some organization that will knock on your door, or give you tabs on the street will are some of reminders that someone is needing of my help.

Well, I like to do nice things for people and not tell them about it - though sometimes I couldn't resist because I want to see that smile on their faces. =)
Whichever your motivation, I think it is hard to argue that more kindness in this world is definitely nice. ^^

Without seeming to be big headed I would say I am number one , I would do for others before I would do for myself , I get a lot of satisfaction helping others , As I have always told my sons and my grandchildren " it costs nothing to be nice " take care sis xx

I think I am a number one and a number two at times. I like to contribute to a good cause,and sometimes I need to be told about new causes and things. Yes, I have a hard time saying "NO". I do not compete with anyone, and I have won no rewards. Yes, it is fun to do an act of kindness without it being revealed. They say that altruistic acts boost your immune system, and make you better all over.

When I help, I don't expect anything from them at all. Just a nod or a simple "thank you," that is enough for me.
As for friends helping each other, that I guess is a different matter. Since most of the times, their friendship was built to trust and it is so natural that either each and every one of them lend a hand to those who are in need of their assistance.
For me, I'd love to help randomly, voluntarily in whatever way I could.

I do them on my own, it's just part of my personality. I like to do for others and I love people in general and if I know of some way I can make someone else's day brighter, then I will. I also believe in doing for others as you would have them do for you. Great discussion by the way : )

I know what you mean by how doing a good deed can really warm your heart. I am always one of the first few people in line if I can help someone in need. I also remain anonymous and don't make a big deal about it, it always makes me feel good to help! Hope all is well and that you have a great day!

I prefer to do them on my own - I think it means more when you do it out of the goodness of your heart rather than because someone asks you to.

The way I see it, I just do them out of kindness. If someone drops something on the floor by accident, I make sure to pick it up and give it back to them or if one of my friends needs small change and if I have that small change, I give it to them. I think it all depends on the situation, but I am a nice guy, so I try to help when I can, no matter what the situation may be. Of course, I don't help the bad guys at all, but the good ones and that's all that matters to me hun!

Hi raydene, I always try to help anyone that needs it. It makes me feel good inside when I help. I'm the person in the family that keeps everyone together. I am there for my friends or family when they are sick or sad. It's just part of me.:)
