Guest and clean up

I pretty much like to do the clean up by myself. The obvious things like trash and dirty dishes getting into the dishwasher I would like help with. Other things like putting things away I would prefer to do myself. I do like people to offer to help at the least, though.

This past summer I had 5 cousins who all live in other states and we had not seen each other in over 20 years come stay for 6 days. Each day they would pick up after themselves. Everyone helped with the cooking and clean up and I can't tell you what a ball we had. I didn't expect nor did they ask if I wanted them to help clean up. But after they left I walked through the house to see if anyone had left anything and my entire house looked exactley like it did when they arrived. It was never mentioned just done. I didn't expect them to do anything but their regards for me caused them to do it on their own. We are going to do it again in 2 years when one of our cousins will be coming back in from Arizona and I can't wait. I don't care if they do anything. LOL

Hi Dear!!Here in my country it is so polite to start clean up in some others home!!I always do it alone not only for traditional reasons but ,as you said ,I like to put all in the place i like it!!During past holidays I had a full house and i will have whole week clean up job!!Warm Regards Silvana

I guess it is nice if they offer , But i don't think i would let them do it, since I take it the way if they are invited they come here to enjoy there stay and not to clean.But sometimes I am really tired when everything is in disorder, but you are right we like it in our way clean, probably.But I would also always offer to clean after myself when I am in my friends house.I think it is nice to ask.
