Do you feel guilty when you eat too much food?

Growing up, we had three meals everyday. Often a bowl of cereal with milk and toast in the morning; balanced lunch provided at school and then a vegetarian based hearty dinner. Usually we didn't have lots of meats, because we weren't very rich and meats were always too expensive. But, I can't remember ever being hungry. Once I got into my teens, all that changed. I stopped eating like a normal person and started obsessing over my weight. Most days, I didn't eat anything. Not that it actually helped me lose weight. But, whenever I would eat more than a few bites, I felt as if I were making myself fat. I don't think I've eaten three meals in a days time since. For me, it seems like a sheer waste of food. I can get full eating a bowl of cereal or fruit, so why would I want to eat more. There are times when I miss eating like everyone else. But, for some reason, I'm still obsessed over my weight. I guess that's normal. Most times I don't eat lots of food. Even if I weren't obsessing over my weight, I would feel so guilty about all the other people in the world that don't have anything to eat, that I would get sad and lose my appetite. So, I guess I'll never eat normal. Do you ever eat three meals daily? Do you feel guilty when you eat a lot?

Actually I want to become slimmer like before I got pregnant. It seems that my size now is bigger. Sometimes I got worried for my figure. I hate it also when I cannot use my clothes before. So, I force to buy clothes of bigger sizes. And the first time after I gave birth I bought a shirt and I feel ashamed because I looked for a large size. But anyway, right now, I am trying to eat little amount. Little by little every day so that I can get used to it. I also worked out even inside our house. It seems that after three weeks there is a little effect. I can feel that I have lost weight. Sometimes I control my appetite even if the food is very tempting. I just stick to little servings. I feel guilty if I can eat too much.

erm..honestly, I don't feel guilty when I eat a lot, instead I feel bloated lol. I'm quite petite so it's ok for me to eat a lot, but the only problem is that I think my stomach's pretty small hehe..so I feel full quickly. It's ironic, isn't it. I worry about my weight too. but instead, i worry not being able to be as "big" as other people. ppl might think it's strange, but i really hate it when other people start commenting on my body size, just because i'm small. it's a sensitive thing to me, coz it's not like i asked to be in this size.. T_T

I eat about 2 times per day. I do feel guilty when eating alot more than I used to. I had weight loss surgery and lost all of that weight and now I eat more than I should and it makes me feel terribly guilty.

I usually eat about three meals a day. They are all pretty small, though. I can't really not eat three meals, because that would be setting a bad example for my son. If I want him to eat, then I have to eat. I don't feel guilty because I eat and others don't. What good does my guilt accomplish? None. If you want to do something to help them, donate money or food.

I eat what I want to and always have. I am a thin smalled framed person but it isn't due to dieting or exercise. Aside from day to day activities I don't gp out of my way to exercise. I try to eat a bit healthier now than when I was younger but that is mainly for the benefit of my children. I want them to get as many nutrients as possible. I could never stop eating full meals, I love food too much. I probably eat at least 3 full meals a day and then some snacks too.

I would like to keep it simple, but it does not go well with the people who share my life. Fruit, cereal, and toast sounds like a good breakfast. Not eating, here, does not feed people elsewhere, unless you give money that you have budgeted for groceries and donate it to hunger relief. What kind of eating example are you setting for your child? I finally quit talking about my weight and obsessing about it when my normal, thin, eight year old daughter looked down at herself, her sticking out rib cage, and said "It looks like I am getting fat"!!!! Big warning bells for me. I do feel bad, when I go to a food buffet, as it is really too much food. I like a meal with lots of veggies, some lean meat, and really good bread.

I am this way myself. I only eat once a day but then there are times I eat again. I have dealt with weight problems myself since childhood and I am still always dieting and I also feel guilty if I over eat or eat to much of something I know that isn't good for me.

I don,t think that eating 3 meals a day is eating too much food. Taking small meals and eating snack between is even a good things when you want to loose some waits. Right now, because I'M pregnant, I'M always hungry and I don,t feel guilty of it, I just can,t wait to have a normal appetite lol. You don,t have to eat 3 big meals, 3 smalls is enough.

Nowadays I used to eat thrice a day. But not heavily or rich foods. But I never felt guilty about that. And as I grown up in a middle class family, the food in my younger days is very much balanced with veg and non veg.

Hello beauty queen. I don't eat too much food when I am full, so I don't have a chance to feel guilty. Yes, I eat three meals a day and I always have enough without having too much.

healthy food, salads, nutritional food, fruits, ve - healthy food, salads, nutritional food, fruits, vegetables
Yes definitely. When I eat too much of junk food then I really feel guilty and try to burn more calories by exercising. If I eat too much of good food like salads etc or something that is good for me, then it's ok. Only matters if I eat too much heavy caloried food. Next day I compensate by eating less or more of fruits or healthy food.
