Where are all of my mates?

We definately have a washer or dryer monster in our home! I will search high and low for missing socks only to never find them again. This monster REALLY likes my son's socks. I bought him 18 pairs of socks a few months ago. But now I am doing laundry 2 times a week just for him and only because he has run out of socks!! And while he isn't great at putting his clothes in his dirty laundry basket, he isn't horrible at it either. And i have searched his room top to bottom looking for the missing ones...and never find them again! I have to buy new socks every few months for myself as well because I will slowly lose one at a time until I ONLY have one left!! Really, where do they go???

It use to happen to me often as a young kid doing laundry. Nowadays I've gotten much better at keeping track of the pairs. I use a band or a clip(if possible), some sort of way to keep the socks together. Some of my longer cut ones I can tie together at the ends and they stay together that way.

Yes this sort of thing always happens to me too, I am always left with one sock, maybe there are sock fairies secretly roaming around laundries, it got so bad for me I started buying all the same colour socks so when they go missing I just match up the left overs.......

The washer or dryer is a sock monster and loves to eat the socks in our home. It seems as though mates go in but never come out. It is crazy! I think that I am going to start using those little mesh bags to keep them together. I can put them in the bag and then throw in the washer.

I know what you mean. I have the same problem. I have started trying to buy the same kind of socks, and I've been buying socks often. That way I am more likely to find mates, if they're all alike. I used to buy all kinds and colors of them, but now, I almost always buy white low cut. Most of the time, I buy the white ones, with pink on the toes and heels.
