Just Say No to AquaDots

My 10 year old and 3 year old daughters have requested AquaDots for Christmas this year, which we would have gladly bought for them, however a new story came out today that the AquaDots contain GHB (the date rape drug) and has placed two childern in nonresponsive coma! If you kids have asked for this toy or if they own the toy, take it away! I feel awful with how close were we to giving the girls such a dangerous toy! The full story is available at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,309318,00.html

My daughter wanted some for her birthday and I decided no because I have a young son and I could picture him trying to eat these. I'm glad I went with my gut. I heard on CNN this morning that they don't intentionally contain GHB, but it's caused by a chemical reaction when these toys are ingested. I'm telling you, with two kids birthdays and Xmas coming up I'm paranoid to go to the toy store.

I agree, with all the recalls on toys, I think it time to bring back the tradition of giving cloths for Christmas.

OMG!! Luckily you caught wind of the story in time before buying them for your daughters!! Too bad though that this wasnt discovered long before those children were subjected to them....I hope they'll recover quickly and without any after affects ya knwo...thats just awful! Those poor babies and their parents must be going just mad!! what the hell is going on with the world today! Insanity!!

I was telling my better half that I would want blood if a toy manufacture put one the kids in a coma. I think I am a pretty forgiving person, but I am not sure if I could just shrug that one off.

Thanks for posting this. I bet a lot of parents didn't see this on the news. My son was asking fro Aqua Dots and I am glad I didn't buy them (he is old enough not to eat them, but we have pets who will put just about anything in their mouths). I read an article on CNN that state the children actually had to consume a few dozen of the aqua dots to get the reaction. Makes you wonder how a kid could ingest that many without a parents knowledge.
