The 10 'Mafiosi' commandments are: 1. No one can present himself directly to another of our friends. There must be a third person to do it. 2. Never look at the wives of friends. 3. Never be seen with cops. 4. Don't go to pubs and clubs. 5. Always be available for Cosa Nostra, even if your wife's about to give birth. 6. Appointments must be respected. 7. Wives must be treated with respect. 8. When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth. 9. Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families. 10. People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra are anyone with a close relative in the police, with a two-timing relative in the family, anyone who behaves badly and doesn't hold to moral values. So the godfather is in custody. And the commandments are out in the open. How do you feel about mafias and what not?

So you've been reading The Godfather, I hope you enjoyed it!;) I guess they made this Commandments long time ago, so maybe they changed it already since the public has already knew what they are all about. That is if there are still some of them left, in which I am not really sure!;) Cosa Nostra, literally means "Our Thing." I knoew some history of them, since I love to read books and it just so happen that a friend of mine has a book that contains some history of the underground syndicate!;) Even the word "Mafia" has no definite meaning, as it was thought to have originated from a Sicilian dialect term for bravado or possibly an Arabic word MEHIA -which means boastful.

I've seen the movie too, but there are more details if ever you could find the time and read the novel!;) If you know Al Capone and Scarface, then you'll definitely enjoy their history!;)

Hi kiobug! I have heard so many stories about the mafia and how they rose into power and have amassed their wealth. I learned that their wealth mostly came from criminal activities and I guess, there is nothing admirable in them. Just my thoughts and have a nice day. Take care.

I think they are good rules. Even gangsters need a set off rules or things go crazy. These people are not scared of anybody, especially not the law. Everyone needs a boss.
