Sachin tendulkar, Saurav ganguly and Rahul Dravid are among the best players of the world. Every team of the world will want to have these kind of players in their side. They are truly match winners.. I myself don't understand, what cause indian people to always ask about their retirement even when they are the front-line batsmen of the Indian team and they are performing well... I think the Indian T-20 WC victory, without these experienced trio, is responsible for much of the debate. People think now that India can do much better without this experienced trio, but they should remembered T-20 is a different game and its not the only cricket to deal with... Whatever I said, I will gonna prove it with my stats... In 2007 only.. Sachin Tendlkar is the 2nd highest runs scorer in the calender year after matthew Hayden, who has scored amazing 1555 runs so far. Sachin Tendulkar has scored 1269 runs in 29 ODi innnings with an average of 47 and strike rate of 84.09!! Saurav ganguly is the third highest scorer in 2007 after matthew Hayden and Sachin Tendulkar. Saurav ganguly has scored 1196 runs in 28 ODI innings with average of 46 and Strike rate of 72.61. Rahul Dravid, is although having a poor form, he has scored 823 runs in 27 innings with an average of 37.40 and Strike rate of 82.05 It should be noticed that "Strike rate" of Rahul Dravid (82.05) in all ODI's of 2007 is better than KEVIN PIETERSEN (78.67), kumar Sangakkara (71), paul Collingwood (77.43).. And his Strike rate is almost equal to players like Micheal Clarke (82.60), Mahela Jayawardena (82.37), Scott Styris (82.50).. After having a strike rate better than KEVIN PIETERSEN, still u think Rahul Dravid is playing slow??? Do u still believe, after giving these kind of performances, the experienced trio should retire?? If Yes, then what will be the fate of India.. (ALL THE STATS ARE UP TO 9TH NOVEMBER, AFTER THE 2ND ODI BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN)

Further, Every people talk about the slow strike rate of the experienced trio.. I agree Saurav Ganguly is a little bit slow but he is not the slowest. As far as he is scoring runs at the top thats good. Now Checkout the comparison between the strike rates of the experienced trio and of some other players in all ODI's of 2007: INDIA's EXPERIENCED TRIO: Sachin Tendulkar= SR: 84.09 Saurav Ganguly= SR: 72.61 Rahul Dravid = SR: 82.05 FEW OTHER INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS: Kevin Pietersen (Eng)= SR: 78.67 Chris Gayle (WI)= SR: 84.25 Micheal Clarke (AUS)= SR: 82.60 Scott Styris (NZ)= SR: 82.50 Mahela Jayawardena (SL)= SR: 82.37 Jack Kallis (SA)= SR: 80.58 Micheal Hussey (AUS)= SR: 80.21 Marlon Samuels (WI)= SR: 79.48 Shaoib Malik (PAK)= SR: 78.44 Paul Collingwood (Eng)= SR: 77.43 Younis Khan (PAK)= SR: 77.30 Gautham Gambhir (IND)= SR: 76.94 Ross Taylor (NZ)= SR: 76.82 Mohammad Yousuf (PAK)= SR: 75.50 Kumar Sangakkara (SL)= SR: 71.04 Shivnarine Chanderpaul (WI)= SR: 69.71 WU Tharanga (SL)= SR: 65.30 Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid's Strike rate is 2007 ODI's is almost better than the every player listed above. Their Strike Rates are better than the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Micheal Hussey, Mahela Jayawardena, Micheal Clarke, Scott Styris, Marlon Samuels, Ross Taylor, Paul Collingwood, Shoaib Malik, who are normally beleived to play agressive cricket.... What else you want from the Indian legendary trio??

Good job man . I agree with you . Ya they have the right to play till they want . They deserve it . Just think of a situation when Players like sachin , Ganguly ,Dravid resigns from cricket !! How horrible it wud be right ? I cant just think of it . They are the back bone of Indian Team . Today Sachin has just Proven that .

Well I dnt say all of them are not worth being in the team but yes they do add some fitness question to the team and specially with ganguly. He is a great player and there is no doubt about that. But his biggest problem is that he does not take quick singles. You have to understand that in todays high scoring matches, each and every run is important. Fielding is improving day by day. So you need to take the quick singles, rotate the strike and hit the bad balls. This way you dnt give away too many dot balls. Sachin is almost ok, but then it takes a lot out of him and sometimes it gets exposed. But what ever may happen, all of them deserve a warm retirement. They should be given the respect they deserve. They gave a lot of the Indian cricket team.
