I have no idea what the above sentences actually means, but I understand what you mean. This is the same when an american says "he stole my thunder". If you are not familiar with the whole history of where that phrase was derived, you would be confused. Another problem is the the direct translation issue, for example, from what I understand in chinese, "take care" in chinese is similar to "walk slowly"... which correct if you are walking! But you can also be careful even when running right (or driving)? If you have watched pirated DVDs with english subtitles, you'll see this stuff more often :)

I think you misunderstand my meaning!First i must point out that the above sentences have wrong grammar, just according to the sequence of chinese speaking. You can understand them according to the meaning of the words one by one and ignore the part of speech of them.Conbine the meaning of each word, and guess again!LOL.

They are wrong grammar in English but makes sense in Chinese right? Like in mandarin, the direct translation for the english sentence: "I want to go to the park" is "I want go park" which sounds funny but makes perfect sense in chinese. Anyway, I still have no idea on what those phrases mean, lol!

ahem.chinese english!chinese could understand easily. but that is not easy to our foreign friends. in my opion,we could explain the "Chinese English" is to translate the chinese into enlish one by on,not according to the grammar. some foreigns think Geting rid of Chinsee english in Beijing everywhere is a pity.

Hello happkid156, welcome to mylot. English is a widel spoken language in the world. Which form you learn depends on where you learn it. There is a bit of difference between the english spoken in Britton and the english spoken in the United States, but people from each country understands most every thing said by each other. What confuses people, even english speakers, is slang. it varies greatly from place to place. Even within the united states, there are a number of "dialects" spoken with many different accents. Also, from what I understand, english grammer rules and chines grammar rules are very different which makes translation difficult.

This is simple and common rule of linguistic. We feel change of pronunciation differently on different places. Smell of clay and environment could be found in a person of a country, city or place when he or she speaks in English. English is not my mother tongue, it is not our national or regional language. It is an important language which could easily be understood all over the world. Especially on world wide webs just as myLot, where non English speaking or writing person could not stay. I learnt most of this important language here on myLot but I still feel that my English is not as good. Chinese people are the same as me and they require encouragement and we should appreciate them as they are participating inspite of difficulties they are facing to write good English here.
