Travel is a dream that I have fulfilled. I have the 'travel bug' and it only gets worse as I get older. When I was a child I would look at my globe and talk about countries that I wanted to visit in my lifetime. So when I was 14 I was lucky enough to go on holiday Greece with my mum. Then when I was 17 I saved up enough from my Saturday job to go to the Netherlands with a friend. At 18 I went to work as an au pair in Finland and then went around Europe alone. At 20 years old I was delighted to have saved enough to go around the world. To help me afford this I got a working holiday visa for Australia. Now I am 35 I have been to many countries, meeting the local people, seeing interesting landscapes and watching native wildlife. Good luck realizing your dream to travel. Countries that I suggest you start at are Vietnam and Mongolia. Japan would be lovely, but rather expensive I think. Further afield Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines would be wonderful choices. Where do you dream about going most of all? For me the answer is Cape Town and the stunning Garden Route.

i am really envious of you, for you are so lucky to have traveled around the world. you really give me inspiration to continue working on my dreams, and i will take your advice to go Vietnam and Mongolia first, for it is relatively cheap for me. would you be so kind as to give me some suggestions about what part is most worth going in these two countries.

I am so glad that I have given you some ideas of an easy and cheap way to get towards your dream to travel. For Vietnam I suggest traveling there overland from China by train. In the north of the country the city of Hanoi might be quite interesting. From there you could possibly visit Sapa, a wonderful place to see hill tribe villages and go trekking. You would see many rice terraces. Then in the middle of the country you could see Hoi An, a lovely place full of old world charm. In the south of the country you could visit the city of Ho Chi Minh and it would be fascinating to see. Vietnam has some stunning beaches to choose from like around Nha Trang. Don't forget that Cambodia is just next door to Vietnam, there Ankor Wat would be an amazing thing for you to see. For Mongolia I suggest taking the train direct to Ulan Bator from China. You enjoy a few days exploring there before going on an excursion to stay in a traditional type of tent thing. You could see the lovely looking countryside. Good luck saving up. In the mean time how about reading a few travel guides to plan your exciting travel adventures?

Same situation here too hehe… I ever wanted to travel to my sister though she’s just out of town but I just can’t because I don’t have enough money though she wants to pay for my ticket but I don’t want to go there like that. Maybe after school I’ll work it out like you too… ;)

i am 20 year old now,i have even never been out of my city. i once planned to attend a university out of my hometown, but my parents stopped me, saying it is dangerous for a girl to live so far away. i know, in fact, they couldn't afford such amount of fares . anyway, i have set a little goal for myself, and i feel delighted to work for it. thanks for sharing!and i do admire your traveling at so little a age.
