Fresh cut or artificial Christmas tree? What will you be having this Christmas season??? We will most likely be having and artificial tree this year. We haven't decided yet, but we have a 1 year old and he's getting into everything, so the last thing I want o worry this holiday season is him getting under the tree and eating the pine needles!!! LOL

I agree, with children of that age it is better to have an artifical tree. As for me, my children are all grown up know. So no more trees to worry about.LOL. Take care, have a nice day.

Question ~ so now that your children are grown up, you don't put up a tree? Or did you mean you put up a cut tree without any worries? thanks for you comment.

Hi! I meant , I donĀ“t put up a tree. When nobody is going to be here at Chistmas, why should I bother. If the familly were coming together at my house, yes then I would put up a tree, gladly. But the kids are in Holland, my parents are too. My Lovers son is with his mother. So we are just the two of us. We will probably go out somewhere. Maybe next year our finacial problems will be solved and we can visit the family on Christmas and New Years. This year we were going to go to Holland for New Years. But, the way it is looking know...Nope. Oh well, things can only get better. Take care, have a nice day.

We actually do both. I do an artificial tree in my formal rooms and then we have to do a REAL tree in the Den. I like the ookd of the artifical tree and and keep my decorations limited to a certain theme or color each year. Our tree in the Den is the FAmily tree, everyones hand made decorations and favorite Team decorations etc...

Santa leaves presents under the Big tree in the Den with the stockings hanging from the Fireplace. The presents for family and friends go under Mom's Pretting tree in the Formal rooms.

That sounds like so much fun! We don't have room for two trees, but if we did that would be a great thing to do. Now, which tree gets the presents under it??? :o)

We'll be getting a fresh cut Christmas tree this year. I always had a fresh cut tree growing up and now my husband and I are continuing with that. It's just not the same with an artificial tree, although I definately understand it in the case of having a baby around the house. I love the smell you get with a fresh cut tree. Now you've made me want to go get our tree right now! Lol!

This will be our first year without a fresh cut tree and i'm thinking i'll be missing the smell...the smell that says "Christmas is here". :o( Hopefully i'll be able to trick my senses with candles and air fresheners.

I'd always had an artifical tree (when I had a tree) right up until last yr when my husband (who always had a real tree) suggested we get a real one..I was iffy about it at first because of all our pets, the mess, etc etc but he won and we went and picked out a tree together with the kids which was lots of fun..and I LOVED IT....so hopefully this yr we'll get a real one again :-D

AWWW, that sounds like so much fun. Picking the tree for us was always a great family/couple experience. Hopefully in the future when our lo is older, we'll start that tradition again.

I want a fresh cut but I think we are going to use my dad's fiberoptic tree this year so that our son who is only 10 month old can't break ortaments and get hurt. But, we'll see. I think my husbands over reacting with it....After all, with my oldest two kids I always had a fresh cut and they lived through it!

I think my husband is over reacting a little too, since he was the one to suggest the artificial tree and the whole needle eating stuff. I mean I worry about it too, but I don't think as much as he does. I guess dads ARE worry worts too.LOL
