Yesterday, i was able to watch a movie about the widos of India... i was shocked and bothered about the reality of how these women are treated... my heart is in pain just thinking about how they live their lives when their husbands died... I am not an expert in tradition and culture but this kind of centruries old tradition is just cruel... i hope those people fighting for the better treatment of these widows succeed... This sort of reality always make me think that eventhough i live in a poor country where corruption is rampant... i am still lucky that i am not binded by this kind of tradition...

What tradition are you speaking of? I have no idea how the Indian widows live. Could you elaborate?

That sounds twisted and sick. What if there are children to be cared for?

It is sick... but then what if they widow is just a child... child marriage is still practiced in India...although there are laws forbidding this...
