What Makes You Add Someone As a Friend on Mylot?

Do you add friends just because they requested, or do you go profile hopping and add as many people as you can thinking the more friends that you have the more you'll get paid? Or do you add people that you want to send something to just so you can send them a link? Are these people really your friends or do you have an agenda when you add them? Or more importantly, are you being a friend to them? I don't know about you, but I would rather have five real friends than to have a long list of people I don't know just to make a few bucks off them. What's your opinion?

I usually add people who i think have interesting discussions! I look through someones profile and if they have more than one interesting discussion i add them as a friend, hopefully they think the same about my discussions but if they dont then oh well lol!

I'm not much on the profile comments, just don't get around to it, but I do often send private messages via mylot, use messenger programs, and occasionally send email as well. I even have friends from mylot I talk to on the phone.

These are all good responses, thanks. I'm wondering how many people really take the time to visit the profiles of the people on their friends list and make comments or try to connect with them in other ways, like e-mail or instant messenger.

I add anyone who requests me, unless they have already specifically offended me (which usually requires spouting some kind of hate or intolerance). I do not request that often, but when I do request, it's because someone said something that struck a chord with me. There have been a few posters that have continually gives thoughtful responses, or that I had a lot in common with. Those are the situations in which I request friendship. I do have a really huge list of friends here, and not all of them are people that I really consider close friends. There are definitely some friends that I respond to more often than others, and some that I talk to other places than mylot now. I do use my friend's list though, and respond whenever my friends start a discussion that interests me.

I let them come to me. I'm not a very social person. If they send me a request, then I go check up on 'em and see if they are worth adding.

Someone who has common interests with me. Someone who isn't just out there collecting friends. And if they don't have a bad attitude.

I added friend who have requested to be added. I would not deny them and I would have the alerts turned on. this way, I do not have to search for discussions as all the new discussions from my friends would go to my mail.

I ask someone to be a friend if I see them on discussions consistantly and they are saying things that really make sense to me. Then I go to their profile to see what discussions they have started. If it looks like that is a person I would really have something in common with and would enjoy their discussions I ask to add them as a friend. I pretty much go through the same process when someone asks me to be a friend. The first couple of friends I just approved because they asked and I figured why not. I was really new here on myLot, too, and was still trying to figure things out. Now I am a little more selective. I do try to get to know the people on my friends list by sending private messages. There are a couple that I really enjoy chatting with about different subjects. I do have a question, though. How would one make money off their friends list? I must still be learning about myLot.

Some people might assume that more friends means more money. I think it does play a small part, but also some people add friends just so they can send them links and try to sign them up for something else that pays for referrals.

I add friends when requested. I never go hopping form one profile to another. Whatever is their agenda, that is not my concern. I'm here to chat, it makes happy. I will never judge them for what they are, rather for what they do.

i dont care if i dont make anything from my friends here. Im building friends a netwirk of friends and the more invites and add i recieve makes me so happy. I dont choose what race they came from as long as they do anything bad to me then i approve them as simple as that. Thanks If you add me.

As I'm somehow new here,so I've almost added everyone who've requested.I also send out requests to those who raise interesting discussions.I think later I'll choose requests to accept.I'd like to have some friends with whom that I can really share the opinions or thoughts.I've never thought about payments when I add friends.I wanna make more friends here and get to know more information and things.Hopefully we can enjoy ourselves here:)
