Tuesday Nov 13th turned out to be a glorious though pretty cold early winters day in Denmark. It's also the day where we go to the general election polls and have the opportunity to have the first Danish female Prime minister (fingers crossed). Now it is early evening (7 pm) and election night has started and will go on way into the night. How was your day? was it glorious? just a day as many others? exiting or just plain boring? One thing is for sure Tuesday Nov 13th 2007 can be a huge change for nearly 6 million Danes. But it can also be a disaster :( . I'm so exited :)

I wish all you danes luck and that it will be a good day and future. For me today it is my dad's birthday. He is 54 today. Considering we were estranged for close to 20 years it is a nice feeling that we are building a good relationship today. My children are finally getting to know him and we can talk to each other. He lives in Toronto so I sent a card and will call him tonight.

Sorry to hear it didn't go the way you had hoped. I know for my dad and I we both made changes in our lives which helped us reconnect today. Because we both want it and are ready it did happen. But it was a bumpy road for a long time. Hope you two will be able to start a fresh page when you both are ready!

Aww Vic, that is cute, maybe it means there is still hope for me and my daughter. Though you seem to have come to the point where you have accepted your dad for what he is, Mette still have a long way to go in that regards. Well the election is over and the excitement has changed to shear horror. In my opinion we had the worse possible result, where an extreme right government has a 1 mandate majority with the support from one person, who does not even live in Denmark. I am guttered, sick to my stomach. Last night was a very dark night in Danish political history :(

Hi Sub, thanks for your contribution. Yes, I am very much into politics and think people in general should pay attention. After all it is the politicians who decide on YOUR opportunities and economy. With regards to the weather, yes, we have had our first snow at least in some parts of the country, but the snow melted straight away as the ground was still not cold enuf for it to stay. It is early wintertime in Denmark right now and you should expect everything from bitterly cold to mild for the season weather for your stay in Copenhagen. My best advice is to bring warm and rain proof clothing with you. Most likely you will be seeing grey wet and windy weather here. I was born and bread in Copenhagen and hope you will enjoy your stay there. :)

Hi Marie. Well as you know we as nations are that close that it will be on news when events like this happens in Scandinavia. Was the same when you had general election was it earlier this year or last year? Also we here about all the political scandals, just as you will do with us. Unfortunately the first polls don't look too bright, the sitting conservative government appears to just scrape by. The worse thing that could ever happen. But it is early hours and a long night awaits us. I really hope we will get a new government as this one is bombing our society back in time, just as being very hostile towards foreigners or different thinking people.

This week started with someone new giving me a whole different perspectives about some things in the past that I had bad experiences with. I came to realize that I haven't done anything wrong, but I could've dealt with it better and yet I didn't even try that because I was mad. Today Tuesday is a warmer day literally and in my heart and mind. I am not a forgiving type and not going to start, but next time when I experience the same thing I will deal with it differently, or at least try. By the way when it comes to politic, I don't know anything about it. I wish the best for your country election and for your country.

Sounds like you are really into politics. Here in the US we will vote in the Spring 08 primaries and then in the Nov 08 final election....we also may possibly have a woman leading our country. We'll we not know for another year.

Hi ky. Thanks for your response. Yes I am pretty much into politics, today obviously on a more personal level. But as from tomorrow my attention will return to the presidential election in your country. I so hope for you that Hillary will be the next president of the USA, though I would say any democrat is bound to do better that the puppet you had for the past 8 years.
