Thank you for taking time to look at this post.It is about the job that I am currently with. I started working as a Manager with my present company last May of this year. I enjoyed working with my collegues and the nature of my job. To make it simple, I never had a problem...not until I received a call from another company (which is our competitor)yesterday offering me to move to them and offering me to start immediately. No questions asked... Here's the condition. SALARY---They are offering me addtional 1/3 what I am currently earning... JOB DESCRIPTION-- Same thing as what I have.. RELOCATION--- I will be relocated and this will be about additional 30-min drive from my present travel. BONUS-- additional incentive if i hit my goal( this what my present company doesnt have). They say, they will call me back before the end of the month. I can't decide until now. Do i need to grab this? Is it the money? or dedication?

This is up to you. The condition is you choose new job, means new adaption which will give you two unconditionally results. First it's the fact, second it's hard to be a fact. You are speculating on this, but by bravely speculating we will have the chance to step forward to big challenge. You will need the legalize pact from them, if you are interested in taking this new job, since It's them who is offering you. You are up on the wind, you the one who makes the bargain. And this is just a reference, read carefully their paper agreement, because my friend who felt in the same condition like you, had been phised by the new company, they even didn't pay him in the middle time of the agreement. Bad, the points on paper was made with nice rotating word, he even didn't had a chance for sue them. But since it just a small project he let them off, by finishing and receive the money in the end. This had given him an experience of facing an undetected consequences from the new company. Unless you had an insider who would spoil the truth, which is not easy or must have a price for it.

I think this is a decision that only you can make. If it is an addiitional 30 minutes of traveling, will the extra money make a difference. There is an old saying, "If it is not broke, don't fix it." You said that you love what you do and you like the people that you work with. Personally, I think that loyalty is more important than money. Remember, that the people offering you the position with the competitor will also know that you are not a loyal person. If you are doing such a good job where you are, maybe you should ask your boss for a raise.

first os all congrats to you on your new job.now moving on to the discussion topic i think dedication is the first and foremost thing required .i say this beacuse lets consider the other case that is usppose you work for money that means you are motivated by greed.now there would be times when you would be thinking about things other than money.in such a case you will not have further interests in your job and the rest you can guess.but suppose you have the dedication to your job,you will have many admirers, you will love your job and money will follow ou rather than you following money.let me tell you my friend your dedication will take you to heights money will one day let you down because greed never succeeds.

I don't know. my first instinct would be to stay where I am, because you never know what the working environment of another company will be like. But if your job isn't offering you a challenge, or enough money, than maybe it IS time for a change.

I say do it for the money not dedication, because company's can replace you in a minute even if you think your not replaceable you are and they do it not even thinking about how much dedication you gave to them. Go for the Gold not the thought of Glory.

If you are happy with what you are doing now and where you are, would it be worth moving to a new job and not enjoy it?? Will it be on your mind that you have made a mistake by moving?? Think long and hard my friend.... Would asking your present employer about a raise in salary or about a bonus incentive help you decide?? If it was me in that situation I would stay where I am. Especially if it took so long to get to the stage that I am at, where friends and collegues, and job satisfaction are a big factor. :-)

Look here you have to decide whats your priority. The money and offer is good for the same job to be done. But the main problem is that if you think the journey will be hectic, or you are not ready to change the company, then its ok not to change.

Hi, Congratulations for your new job. I think the decision should be taken by you only becuase it depends on you how it will change your life and you have to look for your career growth and so and so... My personal feeling is that you should search for a new job and find a suitable one by yourself rather than accepting a job offer from your competitor. Decision is yours and all the best. Take a wise decision.

Hi,there! Well,I think maybe you can have a try of the other offer. It's not all about money but about change. Since you're so familiar with your current job and the environment, maybe you feel there're not too many challenges any more. But with the new one, they have the incentive salary for you so maybe you will explore more. It's not difficult for you to move to that company, just 30 more minutes and you have no problems with job cause it's almost the same as what you're doing now. But you can experience a different environment and meet more people and make more friends. Why not try it? Have a good day and hopefully you can make a best decision for yourself:)

There is a lot more to a job than money. I was making twice what I am now as a Manager Trainee. It was terrible hours, ridiculous amounts of work, and no training. In the end it just wasn't worth it. My suggestions: 1. Research the company. Talk to people who work there and find out what the atmosphere is. 2. Talk to your current boss about the situation. If you say you've been offered more money they may make an offer as well.

Well, as you enjoy working with your collegues in the present company, I think you should stay. Cos you don't know what it would be like at the new company, you can get more money but maybe not as much happiness. Anyhow, it's up to you to make the decision. Good luck, buddy.

be practical sir, grab that hot opportunity. Today, being emotional don't have space in this world 'coz we all know we all need money in order for us to enjoy life. Be practical, we are growing old so we must earn money as much as we can to enjoy it someday. GBU. PRAY ALSO FOR A PERFECT DECISION ASK FOR GOD'S GUIDANCE.

Obviously, as a manager you should be making decent money. You need to understand that it shouldn't be about making money, it should be more about being happy. You are always going to strive to achieve more financial freedom, but if you are happy at your current job, then that is something that you shouldn't give up. Happiness before money, because money can't buy happiness.

You are difnately in a tough place with this decision. Have you thought about job satisfaction versus money? Obviously if you are loyal to your current company you have a high level of job satisfaction. Do you know the people you would be working with at the new Company? Are they as nice as your current team? I have moved jobs for no other reason than more money on more than one occassion and found myself back in the job market within 6 months of the move. I woud hate to see anyone else make a move and be miserable because of it, it's a horrible feeling. Good luck with your decision :-)
