Do you support Second Harvest?

I have a news article at http://From-the-Newsroom.blogspot.com about the adults and children in the USA who will go hungry this Thanksgiving because of lack of food in the food banks. I think everyone who is able should give at least 1 item to the food bank, Second Harvest. This would help these families have at least one or even 2 decent meals. I know the price of food has gone up but one can of green beans or any vegetable, fruit, or juice could help feed a child and you will never miss that 1 can of food. I'll bet you throw away enough to feed another person every week. So please help support our food banks so everyone can eat this Thanksgiving. There is a food bank in every city, town, or county. And all are in need of donations. Do you support your local food bank? I do!

I sure do. I went shopping yesterday to get all of the stuff I needed for Thanksgiving and they had already prepared bags there. I purchased one, like I do every year. I wish everyone would do that. Thanks for posting about it here on MyLot.

Thanks ,you are a very nice person, may your generosity come back 10 fold Just think of how many children we all could feed if everyone who could afford that would do it. At Christmas time we give money to the electric company to pay someones electric bill for 3 months during the months that it is cold.(It only gets down to freezing maybe 3 to 4 nights here in Florida, but some families need heat longer because of the children or elderly). My friend and I will be out delivering the Thanksgiving dinners to those who haven't got transportation. We even took 5 home to cook before delivery. This will save them some money on their electric or gas bill. Every little bit helps. Thanks again Kowgirl

Awe. Kowgirl, you have such a big heart! I won't be delivering any food to anyone on Thanksgiving because my house will be full. We live in a VERY poor community and I have an open invitation every Thanksgiving for anyone who doesn't have a place to go. I usually have a pretty big crowd here. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I think I spend more at Thanksgiving than I do for Christmas!
