Yesterday was my day 10 for my Friendship Bread, it was yummy. I had never made Friendship Bread before and actually thought it was pretty neat. I liked it because it was different than normal baking and I like the fact that you can give a starter to your friends. I decided to keep one of my starters so I can make another batch of bread in 10 days and I gave the other 3 away. I don't know how many times I will keep a starter. What's the longest that you have kept a starter? Do you like making Friendship Bread?

I love friendship bread! If I have extra starters, I put them in the freezer! Then you can take them out whenever you want and start all over. Hmmm, I haven't made in a long time... I'm going to have to pull one out and get it going for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the reminder!

That's a brilliant idea. I never thought about that. Do you just put it in the freezer on Day 1 and let it thaw out when you take it out of the freezer and begin on Day 1? I'm on Day 3 do you think I could put mine in the freezer or should I wait? Thanks so much. I'm glad that I could remind you to take your out of the freezer. Have a great Thanksgiving.

I always put it in the freezer on day 1... not sure how it would work to put it in any other time. I would think it would need to be on Day 1 so that it has 9 more days (once you take it out) to get everything going again.

Thank you for the information. I will try that when my 10 days are up. I have two starters right now so I will be making a lot of bread and starters on Thanksgiving day. Have a great day.

This is very interesting! I had never heard of this way of making bread! Does it taste the same as regular bread?

It doesn't take like regular white bread. It taste more like a pumpkin bread or desert bread. It's sweet with a cinnamon flavor. You also sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top before you bake. It's really good.

It is pretty interesting. First you get a starter from a friend. On Day 1 you don't have to do anything with it. Day 2-5 you have to mush the bag (it comes in a ziploc bag). Day 6 you have to add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour and 1 cup milk and then mush the bag. Day 7-9 you mush the bag. Day 10 you get to bake the bread. After adding some more ingreidents and taking out 4 cups to put 1 cup in 4 different ziploc bags to give away or keep. Then you add even more ingreidents then you pour the contents into 2 bread pans and bake for an hour. The bread is moist and sweet.
