In fact,in order to understand the real chinaman and the chinese civilisation,aman must be deep,bord and simple,for the three characteristics of the chinese character and the chinese civilisation are:depth,broadness and simplicity. the American are not deep,the english not broad,the germans not simple,the french not delicate. it will beseen that if they study the chinese civilisation,the amercian people will get depth,the english,broadness,the germans,simplicity,and all of them will get a quality of mind which have not to a preeminent degree,namely,delicacy!
