hi pinay81 you mentioned about your atm card, looking for the security card on your atm card, and what is safe to use in your paypal/moneybookers to verify you account. first, what is your card? there are 3 types of cards. 1). savings atm card - maybe link to your savings account (like link to your passbook. this type of card is just so that you can access your savings thru an atm card. but this does not have an security code as it is only a savings atm card. these has the megalink and other logos. 2). credit cards - are issued to people who would apply and are given line of credit bec they have the income bracket that banks fell you can pay a credit. when you look at these cards, they have the banks logo and another logo (mastercard, visa, etc.) these logos differentiate it from that savings atm. you will also is that this card has 16 digits, expiry date at the front, and flip the back you will see 3 digits at the left side and on top of your signature. this 3 digits is the security code. 3). debit cards - acts like a credit cards, has the same features as the credit card, the only difference is that you have no line of credit but instead you place money in it like a wallet in which you can use the same way as the credit card, online purchases, shopping malls, etc. which is say safer to use online? i prefer the debit card to use online, bec, the only money there is the money you only need to spend or use on certain times. so you can maintain it with low balance. as may get charged of purchase that they did not buy on credit cards. yes, maybank is one, you can check also at banco de oro. just check that it has 16 digits, logos ( mastercard, visa, etc.) and the security code at the back of the card.

hi pinay 81 did you get to see that security code? if that is not a credit card, and it has a visa logo, that may be a debit card. many banks now are shifting from savings atm to savings debit cards like banco de oro, it is their standard already, they don't have a simple savings atm card anymore. in bano de oro they call this a cash card, since banco de oro is also link with shoemart, they also encourage it to be used there. just an added discussion, the reason why is so that people would not be withdrawing money to much when shopping. it also solves problems of cashier giving back changes in cents. or if their cash box does not have change for a hundred, change for a thousand, it solves their problems of cashier using so much time in looking for change.

i think you are confusing the issue. i did not sign up with paypal only moneybookers. but i see in your response that you are looking for the security code from paypal, i'm a right? i don't think paypal will give you that. a security code is a term used with a credit card or a debit card in which i already explain. it is the last 3 digits at the back of the credit/debit card. but if you waiting for a security code from paypal, i am now not sure what you are referring at. bec i checked the list of country that can apply for paypal and the philippines is not yet one of them. if you have a moneybookers for mylot use, then i think that would be ok. but i think your moneybookers account will also be needing is a credit/debit card account and not a megalink atm. they will not be able to read that bec that is only a local card. for online use, they refer to a credit/debit card account. i hope this will help.

I've had my credit card linked to my paypal account for over 5 years now, and never had a problem. Not only is Paypal good at securing your information, if there was an unauthorized charge on your card because someone got into your paypal account, most credit cards will take the charge off anyway, because it was unauthorized. Just safeguard your username ans password and make it hard for someone to guess, and you should be fine.

You can't add an ATM card to your paypal account. You can add your bank account which is not the same numbers as your card. Do you have any checks to your bank account? If you do, it's the numbers on the bottom of the check. Or do you have a bank statement around the house? You can find your bank account numbers on that. You can add a credit card very easily and this can work the same as a bank account. You have money sent to your credit card and then take a cash advance off your credit card to get the money, if you want it. I have both my bank account and my credit card attached to my paypal account. This way if I want to buy something and I don't have enough money in my paypal account they can still put it through right away and charge it to my credit card. If I want money sent from my bank account to my paypal account it takes up to 10 days before paypal gets the money so I would have to wait that long before I could buy what I want. I hope I have been helpful to you. I hope this answers all your questions. If not just phone paypal. They are very good on the phone and will help you.

It's been a long time since I set up my paypal account but I seem to rmember there is a link for phone verification, is there not. Or maybe you can phone them and ask how you can do it without a bank account or credit card. It would be in your best interest to get verification because a lot of sites won't deal with you if your account is not verified.

i think it should be a credit card, visa member credit cards, the security code is the one at the back of your credit card just above your signature, particularly the last 3 digits. i just had my paypal account the other day and entered my citibank credit with it. Infact was just able to use it to pay for something in another site.

you don't need a credit card, get a DEBIT CARD, is a savings card that ACTS LIKE a credit card. it is best for us using online, bec you do not need to place so much money, only what you need to spend. in banco de oro, you can open with P 2,000 and deposit must not drop balance under that, if not it will be close your card. if you need to spend for example P 1,000 online, you need the balance in your card over P 3,000, so that when the P 1,000 is used, there is always a P 2,000 maintaining balance inside it.

i will give you an example of how the numbers look like in the card. at the front you will see: 5411 5555 6666 7777 = an example of the 16 digits at the front valid thru 1219 == expiry date meaning dec of 2019 AT THE BACK, IT WILL SHOW: 7777 146 ( you will at the back, it repeated the last 4 digits of your 16 digits, beside it is 3 digits which in the example is 146 = SECURITY CODE ) if it has a security code then it is either a credit or debit card which can use online. meaning even your moneybookers need a credit or debit card to work. online DOES NOT TAKE SAVINGS ATM WITH MEGALINK , as that is used only for the country in where you live. the card with the MEGALINK is a local savings card, which YOU CANNOT USE for online transaction. hope this helps. if you need a debit card at least for online, go to MAYBANK or BANCO DE ORO. their savings atm is already AT THE SAME TIME A DEBIT CARD.
