I have one. Its called Thalassophobia-Fear of the sea LOL. I know nothing will eat me but..Nope not going in! LOL. Whats your Phobia? Do you know the name for it? I was going through some phobias and wanted to share some wierd ones.
Ailurophobia- Fear of cats.
Alektorophobia- Fear of chickens.
Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions.
Ambulophobia- Fear of walking.
Anablephobia- Fear of looking up.
Bibliophobia- Fear of books.
Blennophobia- Fear of slime.
Chrometophobia or Chrematophobia- Fear of money.
Consecotaleophobia- Fear of chopsticks.
Cyberphobia- Fear of computers or working on a computer.
Dromophobia- Fear of crossing streets.
Eosophobia- Fear of dawn or daylight.
Ephebiphobia- Fear of teenagers.
Geliophobia- Fear of laughter.
Gephysrophobia- Fear of crossing bridges.
Heliophobia- Fear of the sun.
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words. {LOL}
Homichlophobia- Fear of fog.
Kathisophobia- Fear of sitting down.
Leukophobia- Fear of the color white.
Levophobia- Fear of things to the left side of the body.
Logophobia- Fear of words.
Melanophobia- Fear of the color black.
Microphobia- Fear of small things.
Nephophobia- Fear of clouds.
Nomatophobia- Fear of names.
Ophidiophobia- Fear of snakes.
Optophobia- Fear of opening one's eyes.
Papyrophobia- Fear of paper.
Pentheraphobia- Fear of mother-in-law. {LOL}
Phobophobia- Fear of phobias.
Plutophobia- Fear of wealth.
Rhytiphobia- Fear of getting wrinkles.
Samhainophobia: Fear of Halloween.
Somniphobia- Fear of sleep
Syngenesophobia- Fear of relatives.
Telephonophobia- Fear of telephones.
Triskaidekaphobia- Fear of the number 13.
Xanthophobia- Fear of the color yellow
Xylophobia- Fear of wooden objects
Zemmiphobia- Fear of the great mole rat.
Theres just a few. There are hundreds of phobias. Please share your thought and phobias if any. Thanx!

I looked it up for you. Its: Acrophobia- is an extreme or irrational fear of heights.

The name for fear of dogs is cynophobia. Its qite common.

Ophidiophobia... I'm really afraid of snakes eversince. I cannot even see their pictures on the encyclopedia and I cannot even wear a sandal made of snake skin. That's how I'm scared of snakes.

Okay, you asked for it....some have several names for the same phobia..
Aphenphosmphobia - fear of being touched
Chiraptophobia - same as above just different name
Haphphobia - same as above
Haptephobia - same as above
Acousticophobia - noise
Ligyrophobia - loud noises
Lygophobia - darkness
Myctophobia - darkness
Noctophobia - fear of the night
Pyrophobia - fire
Traumatophobia - injury
Ecclesiophobia - church
Ephebyphobia - teenagers
Dystychiphobia - accidents
Verminophobia - germs
Polyphobias - many things
Panophobia or Pantophobia - Fear of everything
Actually I think the last one sums me up pretty good.....

I am a germaphobic but I don't have an extreme fear of it more of a dislike for it. I really hate germs. I am afraid of tarantulas.

SPERMOPHOBIA- Fear of germs. The fear of trantulas is Arachnophobia. I dont like them either. They creep me out. I am also allergic to the poison in there hairs. Its like the poison in a bee.

I have a fear of heights. I have vertigo and I cannot look down even from a short distance. I can walk up a stairs and walk down stairs as long as I know that the next step is easy to go down, but if I am on a step stool and look down, or if I am on a ladder, I have to hold onto something.
I have another fear that is of laying down with my feet higher and my head lower. I have no idea what it is called.

I have a strange fear of bridges (acrophobia i think it is called)
its strange because it normall affects people on high bridges but it affects me on low bridges that are over water,
i dont know why it does because the bridges are very low (normally a couple of foot above the water)so the fall wouldn't hurt me
and i'm a very good swimmer and have no fear of the water, i spend most summers in the water on jetski's ect
so i really cant see the problem
