Are you the babysitter or the one who needs a babysitter?

I enjoy babysitting my granddaughter! - my granddaughter

I am the babysitter. Almost every weekend I will take my granddaughter so my daughter can go out and not have to worry about getting home on time or that my granddaughter is being well taken care of. Vicky (my granddaughter)and I love to cuddle on the couch and watch her favorite tv programs or I'll take her shopping which she loves. We make popcorn or order pizza and have a great time. I can't wait to see her face tomorrow when she sees this huge tree that I have up just waiting to be decorated by the two of us! Do you do much babysitting or are you the one who needs a babysitter? Do you ever babysit for friends and neighbors or have them babysit for you?

I am the one in need of a babysitter rather than the one who babysits. Jessica has just received her babysitting certification and can now watch the boys which is great. I have always had difficult times finding affordable childcare.

Affordable is THE word! The rates most babysitters ask is ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. I think it's great when teens get certified. It shows they care about the kids they will be taking care of.

You're getting experience by watching your niece and that's a good thing. I also love pet sitting. It's as good as having your own pet with less responsibility.

It's a tough job being a single mom. Just enjoy the time you spend with your daughter and you will both be fine.

It would be nice to have a babysitter from time to time so my husband and I can have some time to ourselves. Unfortunately we don't have family around and I don't really know anyone around that can... I'm hoping once I get to know my sons friends parents from his school, I might be able to ask one of them to babysitter and I'll do the same for them too.

It's hard when there is no family around to depend on or close friends you can rely on to babysit. My daughter has the same problem which is why I'm elected!

Definately the babysitter. I wish I oculd be one more often. I get one every other friday and the other every other weekend - based on divorced parents working schedule. I wish I could get them more!

Around here there are so many people looking for babysitters it isn't funny. Most families have to have both parents working and not everyone has their family to fall back on.

I'd say Both. I baby sit my sisters 2 boys during the week while she's at work and of course we reverse when I need to go out and do something. Although I think I watch her kids more the she watches mine mostly because I don't like to be a hassle since they are my kids. She always offerers to watch my kids too since they're her nephews as well, but I only do it when I need to.

It's always helpful when we have family nearby that we can depend on. When my sister lived in MA and our kids were younger we helped each other out a lot also. Now she is in PA and we are now the babysitters...lol...

I need a babysitter for my dogs and cat if it counts. I am looking for someone to stay in my house with my dogs and my cat for about 3-4 days, day and night. Kids are great, aren't they? You are lucky to be able to spend some time with your granddaughter.

Of course our pets count! I had 3 ferrets last year and when I needed to spend a few days at my daughters I had to get "babysitters" for them!

Im the babysitter, always have been. I am a stay at home mom of two boys 3 and 5. I babysit for brothers 3 and 10 months, and brother sister 3 and 5. I keep busy most days. I only get the weekends off. I love it. I like seeing them play and interact. I love when they help eachother. I love to watch them grow up to. I have watched the 10 month old go from sitting to crawling and now standing up. It just amazes me. I do get my mom and dad to watch my kids most weekend so I and the hunny can have a night alone with no children.

It's awesome watching them grow up whether their our kids or not. I'm sure you appreciate your parents watching your kids so you can get out once in awhile.

I'm the one that needs a sitter...seriously, if you know anyone within 20 miles or so willing to take over for me for the night without pay please send them over LOL. I'm sick, their grandma is sick, grandpa went to bed, Daddy is in Syracuse and Big Brother is out with his girlfriend, I'm tired and cold. Actually it's not so bad, they've been playing pretty good today. I've never been one to babysit much. I didn't seem to undestand other people's children. I'm better with that now but have my hands full with my own.

I remember those days only too well which is why I never mind giving my daughter a break. It helps us both because it gives me a chance to be with Vicky.

I am the babysitter. I watch my two granddaughters. They are 7 and 2 years old. We play the whole day when I watch them. We bake cookies or cupcakes, go to the park, play outside in the leaves/snow or go swimming in my pool, play hide-n-seek, play board games, color or draw. I could go on and on. By the time they go home, I am ready for bed.:)

What's that saying about grandparents? At the end of the day they go home to their parents? lol...isn't that so true? I'm always exhausted after a day with my granddaughter too.

I am happy to say that most of the baby sitting is behind me, ctry. When my grandkids were born it seems that all I did was babysit. I was burnt out! I became a grandmother at 35, and I was still raising my youngest child. Now I sit with the great-grandkids occasionally, but I let everyone know that I am officially retired. Now I find myself sometimes in need of a babysitter-mostly in the form of my ex. He pops up unexpectedly just to hang out and make sure that I'm OK. I don't really need the attention, but it's nice to feel that you matter.

My daughter is going through a lot right now and I'm trying to help her out by taking my granddaughter as often as she needs me. I have to admit it's starting to get to me because at times I feel she's taking advantage but one of these days she's going to have her act together and things will change. For now I'm just going to enjoy my time with Vicky.

Hi,there! I'm not the babysitter and I've never done that before for my friends or neighbors. But I know it's not too easy to be a babysitter cause you've got a lot of work to do.In order to be a good babysitter, you need to know how to get along with the baby. But I guess you're pretty happy when you babysit your granddaughter:) When I was young,I was more like that I need a babysitter. But nowadays I think I'm better. Hopefully you enjoy your babysitter job for your cute granddaughter.Best regards for you and her^_^

I took care of my nephew several months ago when my elder sister was busy in bussiness, and just have a think of that, baby is the most interesting thing in the world, when they laugh, when they cry, when they give their hand to you, when you carry them in your arm, give some sweets to them, and tell story to them, oh... that's really very good. for human beings, it's our responsibility , but also our pleasure.
