Does anyone else get frustrated with the push to start the Christmas season? The stores had Christmas decorations out before Halloween. Can we please enjoy the Holidays before Christmas? Besides i always thought that Christmas was about spending time about your family and friends. Don't get me wrong I absolutley love Christmas. There is nothing better than seeing the kids faces that morning. In my family we don't watch any Christmas shows or listen to Christmas music until Santa has come thru the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, that is when the Christmas season starts in our house. How about you?

Our Christmas starts similarly to yours, we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, while preparing thanksgiving dinner. But our Christmas season actually starts Thanksgiving Day, after the meal, and everything is cleaned up, that evening we will watch 2 movies that kick off our season, White Christmas and Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation. And as we watch these movies, I'll call my sister who lives 1600 miles away (and she'll be watching it too!) and my mom and dad. We have watched these movies on Thanksgiving evening as far back as I can remember for White Christmas and ever since Christmas Vacation came out it was added to the evenings traditon. This year, my daughter and I will be headed out for early shopping, starting at midnight at our favorite scrapbooking store, and then on to other Black Friday specials! First time for both of us to go out shopping on Black Friday, the guys are staying home, in bed, where all sane people should be LOL Happy Thanksgiving

I totally agree with you about enjoying the other holidays before Christmas. Its all commercialism and capitalism. The real spirit of the Holdays is lost in everyone trying to make more money. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you.
