Roads Too Icy to Travel

Because the roads are icy this morning, I couldn't make it to my first client's house. First, I called work to notify them that I was home, then I called my client. She was quite understanding. The road to her house was a sheet of ice. A few nights ago I had a dream that I was in a terrible accident that was on a road that had an upward incline. I skidded out and flipped over twice. Although I was uninjured, I took it as a premonition. I believe that if I had tried to go up that hill to my client's house this morning I would have gone off the road or worse. So, here I am! I finished the edge of a Christmas tablecloth. Now I am cutting out a bumble bee that I will be making for my granddaughter. To bring my spirits up a notch, I am listening to Christmas music that is streamlining from tropicalglen. Need to hear a bit of Christmas music? Here is the link: http://www.tropicalglen.com/FA-Christmas.html Soon I will be venturing out again to see if the roads are safe to travel. My next client is at 10:30, but if I am a little late, she won't mind. My clients are most understanding people. I find comfort in the knowledge that if something should come up that I cannot make it to their homes, they will understand.

I hate trying to drive on icy roads. You were smart to stay home. It is a beautiful 62 degrees here. The high today is supposed to be 72! Yea! I hate cold weather. Please be careful on your way out later today.

Wow, 72! I wish it were warmer here. We were taken by surprise when this storm dumped the sleet, snow and freezing rain.

It is horrible when the roads are like that. It is dangerous, and after that dream, I know I would not go. Hope the rest of your day goes well. You are really getting into the holidays, good for you. I am really having trouble getting into the mood at all.

Here in Minnesota Monday night we had thick heavy fog most the night. This left a layer of ice on the roads. A 20 minute drive took me an hour. Ugggh. You couldn't see 20 feet in front of you. The traffic lights suddenly jumped out at you. Luckily there weren't any near the lights I hamissed and traveled through. the roads were horrible last night. Hope things gets better travel wise for you and the client calls you need to make. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm glad you decided to stay home this morning and not chance driving and getting yourself hurt. Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out. Drive safe if you are able to make it to your next client's house. The temperature here today is supposed to be 75. Everybody keeps getting sick because it's been going from cold to warm, cold to warm. It's supposed to get cold again by the end of this week.

We had such a mild winter last year that I believe Mother Nature is revving up to give us a good one this year.

Sorry to hear that the ice prevented you from going to work. We have been fortunately here and have not had any ice or snow yet ( I live on Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick) It is wise of you to be cautious and stay safe . I am glad that you have that leeway with your job.

Nobody could blame you, Elusive, for not wanting to risk life and limb in such dangerous weather conditions. I can't help but gloat a bit since our weather is gorgeous where I live. We are expected to reach a balmy 68* today! Of course it won't last long though. At least you did spend the extra time at home doing something constructive. As for your dream, it might have been a prophetic one. Glad you didn't take a chance.

You did right to take notice of your premonition. I believe they can be accurate. Traditional Aboriginals run their lifestyle around their dreams. And icy roads are very dangerous. You always go the extra mile for your clients, so I am sure they don't mind if you can not make it on the odd occasion. You even used your spare time productively. I bet the Christmas tablecloth looks lovely.

Hello dear elusive butterfly. I am glad that your clients are so understanding people when the weather is so cold with the roads so icy. It is always a good idea to be more cautious in bad weather when you have to go out for your clients. I am glad that you can always find something else interesting for you to do at home to spend the time. Have a good day, dear friend, and keep warm.
