Robin Utthapa as a regular one down batsman?

What do u think of robin uthappa as a player? I think he is a terrefic player and needs some exposure.
In the series against aussies he played some awesome knocks and did not get many oppurtunity in the pak series.
What do u think of him making a regular one down player for india in ODI?Cheers,

the one down place is a very crucial one. he batsman who plays as that position has to be very good. cause he can land up in any kind of situation. he can be there when spin is on or even when the ball is new if there is an early wicket. so the technique is very important and i feel robin has the quality and he is a good candidate for that place.

Yea u r right. As sehwag in not in form he is the ideal candidate for one down. At times i feel sachin gets pressurized for scoring runs briskly.

Robin is surely a good player but just wait for some more matches to see his perfomance.

He is a good attacking batsman and should be regular in one dayers.

I feel that he would be far better suited if he comes in the middle order, either two down or other, rather than coming in as one down batsman which requires special skills, as most of the time he would be facing the new ball and hence this needs specialist rather than some one like robin uthappa.

i don't think he should be one as i think he should be utilized in lower down the order.As he is the type of player who can improvise in the last ten overs and i dont think he will be playing in that place.He is the type of player who has a good technique and plays pure cricketing shots hence he should be utilised in 5th or 6th spot.Thats the right place for him.
