Again i'm hit with cold. Not even a month passed and i'm having a running nose. It is damn disgusting. My dustbin at the work place is completely filled with tissue papers. God save me from this cold. I think i have to be entered into guiness book of world records for the highest number of time to be attcaked by cold. Some body dare to compete with me. 20 times a year is my min frequency. Avg should be 30

I'm also one who is frequently attacked by cold. I can also reach the frequency of over 20 times in a year. On average, the number of attacks I get per month is 4. Hmm, so maybe I could compete with you... =P Anyway, what I try to relieve my symptoms is intake of 500mg vitamin C tablets, a nice hot cup of coffee or tea, use Vicks Vaporub or Inhaler, and also keep the fan or air-conditioning off at all times during my attack of cold. It usually helps me, but sometimes they don't work if my condition is too severe. During those conditions, I just lay in bed until I recover.

I didn't know that Vitamic C helps. I will buy them now. Boos, you seems to be a stiff competitor. I also have another doubt. Does it mean being attacked to cold frequetly is akin to weak immune system?

I'm also not really sure how Vitamin C works to combat colds, but it has been a traditional remedy to prevent and treat colds in my culture. My parents always ask me to take Vitamin C whenever I have a cold. About your second query, I think that cold happens is not because of weak immune system but rather a strong immune system. This is because the immune system is producing more mucus to help eliminate bacteria and allergens that are harmful to the body. Logically that's what's happening, but there is a possibility that I could be wrong too....try and consult someone more "expert" in health than me if you are really keen to know the correct answer.... =)

I'm sorry to hear you have so many colds in one year. My family (kids, hubby, and self) currently have a cold. My husband and I get average maybe 3 a year, though this year I think it's our 4th one. It's a nasty one too. Our oldest son threw up a couple of times today (my poor baby), our noses keep running, our throats are sore, we keep coughing, and we can't sleep straight. I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully this'll be your last cold for this year.

Have you ever thought the reasons for getting cold so often? I think you should take some immunity boosters like chicken soup, orange juice, lemon juice which are rich in Vitamin C. Avoid taking medications. Let you natural immunity work. I think the article "How to beat the Cold" would help you. Check: http://www.healthmad.com/Health/How-to-Beat-the-Common-Cold.60863

i used to be so like you are right now about 10 years ago, it seemed that i had some sort of bug about every other week! finally my dr suggested i take immune boosters (you can get them at a health food store) and while i still get sick, i dont get sick nearly as often!

Try gargling hot green tea (careful not to burn yourself) every night before you sleep and morning after you wake up. It's extremely effective for coughs and colds. Do it whenever you feel unwell and I'm sure you will cold the annoying virus away for a loooong time.
