it it selfish to always getting what you want in life?

Sometimes i heard my therapist asking me what do i really want.it makes me feel more focus on my happiness. But others also saying that i can't always get what i want,Which one is better statement. Can i get what i want without feeling selfish?Thank you for your answer

Hi! Wow, great discussion! Once again, I have a complicated answer that I can barely understand myself. If you focus on what you want, and work to get it, it is likely that you will get it. And if it makes you focused on your happiness, it is all the better. But of course, you can't ALWAYS get what you want. It doesn't work like that. But going for what you want doesn't nessicarily (sp?) make you selfish. in fact, its proably a good thing, having something to work forward to. Have a great day.
