I always keep up with this kind of stuff. I want to know that they are doing what I voted them in to do. I am always emailing and calling our elected officials to tell them what I think. I have received many letters from them also. I vote and feel that it is my duty to keep well informed.

You sound like me. I'm always writing my senators. And have received replies from them all. I realize they probably have staff that does that kind of thing, but it is still very neat to receive answers from my senators explaining why they voted for or against something.

I took a Grant Writing class at which the instructor used to be a page for a senator. She said that their job is to monoter all contact for the senators and to talley up what the people said. She said once in a while the Senetor would even have them to check and verify that the people who had contacted him acturally voted. So they do hear about the contact that we make with them. I have been known to acturally go talk to voted officials also. I want my voice heard. I vote and that gives me a right to complain when I need to.
