A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned

spare change - extra money that can come in handy when you lest expect it. Like times when your low on gas, or need a little more to buy yourself lunch.

Does anyone find themselves picking up change they see laying in the parking lot, or anywhere on the ground? Even if its just a penny? I know I do, A few years ago I didnt. But now I dont see why anyone wouldnt. I'm always finding pennys, nickels, dimes and sometimes even quarters when I'm walking around in a store. Or walking back to my car. Mainly I just find pennys, but i've noticed it all has been adding up.

Hello, Chris. while walking in the road one may find a coin fallen on the ground.it is human tendency that makes him pick up the coin, thinking it to be a gift of God.not only a coin ,you may also come across some valuable articles like necklace or a ring. why should you leave ignored.if you leave it there what is the use, some other passer by might pick up.so why not you.if you go on collecting such coins from the streets one day you will find your self with a huge money which you may donate to some charitable organisation if you like,no matter if you keep for own use either.so it is rightly said a penny saved is a penny earned.thank you for starting such a discussion.keep on.

I do this, too. Maybe not pennies as much as other coinage, but I will still pick up a penny if it's not very dirty. I think it's actually a really good thing, because now I'm in the habit of watching the floor for spare change in offices and stores, and I've discovered a $5 or $10 bill on the floor.

Unless the penny is in a really grimey place, like a puddle of dirty water, I will almost always pick up a penny, and of ourse, higher denominations. I put the pennies in a jar along with all the picked up money and roll them up at the end of the year. I usually pick up about 200 pennies over the course of the year. Alongwith other denominations, I pick up about $10 a year. The other thing I do when I pick up money is to incorporate the pennies from heaven saying that whenever I find a penny, someone from heaven is thinking about me, and I ask for me and my loved ones both here and those who have passed on to be blessed.

oh yes. Those pennies do add up. I get about 30.00 per month just in pennies, nickels and dimes. Sometimes more. I throw quarters in my ashtray for parking meters. heck, thats gas money or a meal. Once my girls and I saved all of our change for a year. We got 600.00 almost 700.00 and went on a trip together. Yes....even those pennies do add up. a great majority of our 600 was pennies and many were those we picked up off the pavement.

No, actually I may be the person leaving all the change around, hah. Sometimes when I fish around for change in my pocket under all those old receipts a small coin like a penny or nickel falls out. Usually when that happens I'm quickly rying to get the change since the cashier is waiting for me, and its an insignificant amount of money so I don't bother to pick it up. If a dime falls out I'd pick it up though. If I see things like quarters or even dimes lying around I'd pick them up, eventually I could buy a drink or snack with the change.

lol..........is that so? I want to ask you one question. What do you do with that money. If you are having difficulties earning money then I think it will be helpful for you but if you well enough to earn good money try to give them to the poor.

If I see a penny, I will pick it up. I have not found many nickels, dimes, or quarters though, although I found a penny in the store. I try to avoid places where someone might have dropped it just then, or on people's porches. (I used to deliver fliers) and we are limited to Spring, Summer, and the first two months of Fall, because it starts to snow here in November and cannot dig through the snow. I do find, that when the snow melts, I see a penny under the ice, and I am digging to get it out. I then put the pennies in the collection plate at Church whenever I get them.

Yes I would, because I believe those small coins still have value and can therefore be put to use. But I only would pick it up if I can do so without being noticed by other people. I would feel embarassed if noticed by someone, especially the owner of that coin! Or maybe it's a prank and I'm being videotaped and it will be shown on national television. I must be paranoid! LOL

Hello chris. It is the same with me. When I see some small coins or paper money on the ground, I would like to pick it up as I think that it is some loss of the bank if they are not picked up. Of course it would be nice if the owner could be found and given back the coins. This afternoon when I was buying vegetables, one of my coins fell onto the ground without my knowing about it. But the sellor saw it and told me. She was so nice and that coin was just enough for the bunch of vegetable. hehe.

My daughter finds change everywhere. We keep it and I wonder if we will have enough for college someday? I think people are too lazy if they drop a penny to pick it up.
