my dvd has been lost

My husband record a dvd with our digital camcorder but he didn't make a copy of it.
One of his friends took this dvd 'cause he wanted to make a copy for himself but it seems that he destroyed the dvd.
The dvd is full but nothing can be seen from it.
What can I do?
Should I send this dvd t a specialst of this field??

I would say theres not to much you can do about it. Maybe he tried to copy the dvd and made a blank copy on it instead? Or the file got corupted. I dont think it can be fixed.
