I like to eat the raw salmon and I don't like it when it is cooked. I like to dip the raw salmom into the sauce with washabi. That is the Japanese way. The washabi feeling is very funny:)

Hi youless. I like to eat raw salmon when it is very fresh, usually would eat them in an authentic Japanese restaurant. But, at times I would also grocery buy those frozen packed and cook at home. And yeah, I like them dipped in wasabi and kikkoman sauce. Yummmm.

I also like salmon best when its raw, in sushi. But a close second is to eat it as smoked salmon (the thinly sliced "lox" is best). Whether raw or smoked I also make sure that the salmon is wild and not farmed. I prefer wild both because it tastes better and also because its healthier (less fat, especially saturated fat).

It seems smoked salmon isn't available here yet. It will be a good business, I believe:)

I love salmon sashimi (the raw salmon you've mentioned). A trip to the Japanese restaurant is not complete without ordering salmon sashimi. Of course, there has to be wasabi :)

No, it's not my first time to try washabi:) I even have it at home, it is a common thing here. In fact I like various foods, and I think Japanese foods are very fresh and beautiful. By the way, you must be smart because you like eating fish:)

Wasabi is a type of horseradish, I love it! I love sushi too, but mostly we salt cure our salmon by making gravadlax out of it. It is so easy to do, you just pack the cleaned fish in salt, lemon and dill for several days, then rinse it off and slice very thinly like you would with smoked salmon. Yummy

Raw is probably the only way I do not like salmon. One of the ways I cook it is to marinate it in soy, lemon juice, honey, ginger and garlic. Then I would sear it on both sides. I do not want it overcooked.

Oh wow I just went for my first ever Japanese the other night. I live in Scotland and it was absolutely delicious. What is washabi. I recognise the name of it. I had a dish called Ichiban which was noodles, with crab, prawn, shrip, squid, chicken and some other things and it was lovely and I had a side of vegatable tempure which tasted amazing. My friends had some pretty love stuff too and I even ate it all with the chopsticks. Lol. Well back to Salmon. I love Salmon loads but have to say that the way I love it is smoked with creme cheese. So so yum! Oh, at the Japanese place my friends all dared me to try the green stuff at the side that looked like plastercine and I did and I loved it. It wasn't too spicy at all. Oh I think I may go tomorrow again.

Wasabi is that pale green condiment thatsometimes comes with sushi. Wasabi flavor hasbeen compared to mustard or horseradish—indeed wasabi is sometimes called Japanesehorseradish—but the flavor and smell of real freshwasabi are unique. It is a wonderful condiment orspice and has many other uses as well. I haven't eaten smoked salmon before, but it sounds very attractive for me:)

I eat salmon but I cant eat it raw. i dont know but I am not used of eating raw foods. I like it cooked.... and cooked well. I believe that i can't eat Japanese foods... because they love it raw. Me, I cant even eat a chicken that is not well done. I envy people who can experiment with the different tastes of food.

We don't eat raw chickens here:) Salmon is fine. Perhaps my mom doesn't know how to cook salmon, as I really don't like it cooked. This is why I would like to know how others eat this fish.

Hi youless! I like sashimi too but the rawness of it does not sit very well in my stomach but i do however try to have a small bite everytime my friends or family order it. I do however prefer grilled salmon. Take care and have a nice day. :)
