A 13 year old girl committed suicide after a very bad on-line MySpace breakup with a "boy". BUT, the boy was NOT a boy. The boy was a woman in her 40's who INTENTIONALLY stalked this girl on MySpace by posing as a 16 year old boy; becoming close "friends" with her and then turning mean trading insults and in the final message stating “The world would be a better place without you.” This girl then went to her bedroom and hung herself. The woman who did this to her KNEW the girl and her family. She lived just 4 houses down the street. She and her family were "friends" with the girl and her family. They were neighbors. They also knew the girl had self-esteem issues, depression, and was on medication for the depresssion. After a full year's investigation by the FBI - NO CHARGES will be filed against this woman because "she didn't do anything illegal"! Here is a link to the full story with ALL the details - http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/28/us/28hoax.html?th&emc=th For anyone to intentionally target and harrass another person, especially a child, over the Internet - whether they commit suicide or not should be a crime. The fact that this woman could be so cruel and not be punished for her actions is appalling. MySpace should not be allowing adults to "pose" as children in the first place. Our laws need to be updated to prevent others from "getting away with murder" using the Internet.

That women needs to get locked up or hung herself for doing this. If she knew the child had issues then she should have left the child alone. Now that family has to suffer because of her stupidity. This is why I say we are living IN Hell. Because of stupid people like her.

That is the question though. Was she simply "stupid" or was it an INTENTIONAL act of cruelty?

Well, she was obviously STUPID. What kind of woman in her 40's is going to pick on a little girl? That is just messed up!

That pretty much sums it up. I am amazed that she is still living in that neighborhood.

That is a very cruel act of that woman especially for her age, she should have known how a teenager would react to something such as that. i wonder how she sleeps at night after doing such thing to another person. I hope that she would end up lonely and nobody would want to be her friend or even near her. That would serve her right!

She really should have known how the girl would react (and probably did know) since the girl and her own daughter had been close friends; but, the two had grown apart when the girl with depression started attending a private school and making other friends. The private school was actually helping the girl; but, this woman's cruel act destroyed every bit of benefit the girl had received from the new school.
