And they call themselves Christians?

Usually I rant about muslim extremists, but after seeing a documentary last night about this church,I just had to go to their website and then come here and rant. They are called The Westboro Baptist Church. They are the christian equivalent to the taliban. I have NEVER in my life seen christians act and sound so violent and hateful. Here is a little excerpt from their website. "Your Utah miners are in hell! You can spend forever and a day trying to dig their bodies up so you can BURY THEM AGAIN in all the pomp and circumstance you use to worship the dead, but it won't buy them one drop of water in hell! Tammy Faye is in hell. You can't live the life of an adulteress witch and go to heaven when you die. It really is that simple! WBC will continue to preach about the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. Whether over the radio or in person, you will still receive our message. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. " They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads" (Eze. 7:18). Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. On April 16, 2007, this nation, through the offices of your military and conspirators therewith took a shot at the servants of God -- your marksman was limp and lame and he had terror all around, so he did a lousy job. But what you get for your trouble is that your God shot at you! The LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children, and he didn't miss. Get this straight -- God sent this South Korean madman to kill 31 of your children at Virginia Tech. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants. Gerald Ford's long personal nightmare has just begun. Even now, "hell from beneath is moved to meet" him, and it "hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations" (Is. 14:9). All the past chief rulers of the earth rose up to mock him and curse him the moment he split hell wide open, and they will continue to do so for all eternity. He ignored God's Word, and did his part to set this nation on a downward spiral toward open rebellion against God and the promotion of the Sodomite agenda. He was given up to these vile affections and will suffer eternal torment for it (Romans 1). Read the evidence against him being in heaven here. The Amish children from Pennsylvania are even now in hell. Stop spreading the lie that they were innocent. They were just as degenerate and deserving of hell as the pervert who killed them. You get what you deserve, America! You raised these murderous beasts and perverted their minds, and now you act surprised? As long as you people try to stop us, you will be punished, just as Pharaoh was punished when he would not let God's people go (Ex. 12:30). Gov. Ed Rendell brought this down on you, get mad at him, not us!" That has got to be the most hateful and cruel thing I have ever heard coming out of a human beings mouth. What is wrong with these people? Things like this make me glad that I'm a wiccan and I can wash my hands of people like this.

Yes there are many people out there that call themselves christians but are clearly not. Christians are not the ones that are suposed to pass judgement that is for God to do. Christians are supposed to walk in the same ways as Jesus did 2000 years ago. Jesus did not pass judgement on people. If I remember correctly the pharasis were going to stone a woman for adultery and they came to Jesus and asked them what they should do. Jesus said to the woman you are forgive go and sin no more. Jesus has a forgiving heart and that is what real christians have.

"What is wrong with these people?" People with such hateful tendencies that are fanatically religious are, in my opinion, pathologically violent and in denial concerning their criminal nature while using religion as an excuse to provide a rational for their abhorent words and actions. I have said the same about radical Muslims and it applies to these sorry excuses for Christians, too. The only thing to do is stay away from these people and let the authorities handle it when they inevitably break the law.

Satan is an expert at using God and religion to do his work. These people are obviously out of touch with God because He hates no one. God does not favor one nation or another and political strife/problems are irrelevant in the spiritual world save for the suffering that they can cause at times.

Wow. As a Christian I will be the first to say that this sickened me and goes against what God teaches in His Word. God does not send madmen to shoot children and it is disgusting to say so. Trust me when I say that they will have to answer for that which they claim comes from God and you and I should both be glad that we are not them. I honestly don't know what is wrong with them and find it hard to believe that they claim to be Christian.

First of all we all have to know that no matter what these people say about being Christians we know they are not? The bible is clear about the fruit of the spirit and it is plain to see they do not know a very personable God who is the creator of this universe. So that rules that lie out. The next thing is everytime I see this lost group of people on tv I hope and pray that the people they are spewing hurtful words at will rise above it and see these people for what they truly are. People to be pittied! That might be to generous for some people to give them; but the fact is these people are decieved by the enemy of their souls and by the evil that is in their own heart. They are indeed living in the dark. They truly do need our prayers. It is only God who can change these people if they are willing to accept Truth!

Well, as any Christian knows, in the last days there will come many False Churches. Churches that brainwash and teach people to be Cruel, and hurt others instead of trying to win the loss. They convince them that everyone is going to Hell no matter who you are, in reality, they are the ones who are lost, and going to hell. All we can do, if you are a Christian is Pray for these people, and hope the real God and Spirit of God reaches them and touches them before it is too late.

Iam with you on this one. I am a Proud Pagan and switched from Christian for may reasons vut this makes me proud even more of my decission. I am offended that they think it is our fault that our children are this way. Granted I do believe that there are some parents who need to get knocked upside the head to get them to wake up but that dosnt mean that all of us need it.

LOL yea I'm glad I'm Pagan myself because I would NEVER want to be associated with ppl like that!! Fundies are a disgrace to not only the Christian religion but also the human race as far as I'm concerned :-/

You are using cults as an excuse to deny God in your life. This so-called church is a cult and in no way represents how Christ taught us to live. God does not hate anyone. He does hate sin, but He loves the sinner. They are using God and He will punish them if they do not repent of what they are doing and come to Him. God bless.

Hi Riptide, Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is one. We know a Christian by their kindness, humility, humbleness and their love for the Lord. Unfortunately, there are "churches" out there that go against what the Bible teaches. There are people out there who use God for their own personal gain and desires. They will be punished as the Bible clearly says. Jesus Christ is the perfect role model for a Christian. He is totally sinless. I pray that many will not see these kinds of "chuches" as being what a Christian ought to be. Don't let them keep you from the Truth of Jesus Christ. When you know the Lord, you will know who is genuine and who is not. You will know who to stay away from. Trust in the Lord Jesus. Seek His wisdom and guidance. God bless.

Everyone has the right to teach as they like. I cannot accept it anyway. If someone think it is correct, let them take it. Don't worry, this must happen
